Russia's response to Eurovision was to bomb the Ukranian entry's home town just as they were going on stage.
The swear filter should be lifted for just that comment.

Just watched footage of the explosions, absolutely massive, possibly into the thousands of kilos of material. Seems it was fairly isolated from anything significant, as it was an explosives dump, possibly missile solid fuel motors that had been retired and were stored for disposal, but Ukraine never had the money to spare. This is the second one to be hit, and it’s quite likely that Russia’s poor research into what was there assumed it was stores of current ammunition, instead they’ve done Ukraine a favour by disposing of it in a ‘thing fall down, go boom’ fashion.
Finland got robbed.
Belgium should have done better.
The Icelandic jury guy had clearly taken too much ghb in preparation for the fetish party he was attending after the show.

The UK vocals were pretty weak on the night, I thought. There was some stuff beforehand about the choreography, and she'd mentioned walking down the stairs without looking. Unfortunately in the performance she did.
We've not been "at home" for decades - I reckon the nerves just got to her.
Nerves or not it was a mediocre song.
I genuinely don't understand how a nation with such a proud musical heritage - and in Liverpool of all places for gods' sake, hardly unknown for its musical pedigree - can semi-consistently turn out such forgettable entries for Eurovision.
Mind you, I don't understand how Glammstein did so badly either, Germany was probably my favourite act. So what do I know.
Well it's subjective obviously, but I thought Germany had a terrible song, but a reasonably good stylist.
Didn't really get the hype for Israel either, she they shouldn't be allowed to take part anyway (due to murdering Palestinians, not their location).
The UK song had a catchy enough chorus but the rest was a bit 'meh' and the stage show was wooden at best. Not enough to stand out in a year that had a lot of strong solo female acts.
Did everyone watching comment at the time, that Sam Ryder's song would have been a perfect entry instead?

The mid fifties Croatians in their undercrackers was off the radar.
And I was convinced the German lead singer was going to eject one of the boys from the barracks.
I am new to Eurovision and only caught the end, but I have questions:
Who was the blonde presenter? Is she really tall or is GN really small?
Why is Australia in it?
Why did Sweden win? I only caught the end so didn’t see any of the others, but was that really the best?

Australia is included because the show was massively popular down there anyway. And they're chucking more money in now they're taking part IIRC.
Dunno about Israel, maybe the same or maybe it's an exercise in campwashing.
