This country is screwed, facilitated by a useless Labour leadership
Got to agree, I mean I know the faithful will cry it was the media and if we just read the manifesto we’d all love him, but Corbyn is utterly, utterly useless.
He wants to be gone by breakfast.
Labour need to make a choice between ideology and electability.
“Biggest majority since Thatcher” is terrifying in both senses.
I did expect a slight Tory majority but not that!
It does have me worried - will it embolden the Kippers & ERG or will BJ be able to ignore them & get a less painful Brexit through?
Either way - it’s not looking pretty at all....though I suppose the latter is better than the former....regardless all I see is a lot of pain & that makes me feel very sad for the UK..
hmm...oh well, on the plus side, soon it'll be Christmas
If the Exit Poll is to be believed then it’s a total and utter rejection of Corbyn and Momentum.
I never expected such a huge potential tory majority, it’s not even close to my preferred minority government or hung parliament.
Quite depressing really.
Don't see a good replacement for Corbz
Shit.
Maybe the exit poll is wrong. No way can we be worse than the 80's and the days of Foot?
Don't get me wrong I thought the Tories would probably win but not by that much...
John McDonald looking genuinely shocked on BBC.
it's an old record but this is a selfish i'm alright jack country voting for an selfish i'm alright party, they are well suited and **** the rest of ya the poor are lazy, the disabled are faking it and immigrants can go home.
Brexit wins again.
Yes, BBC. The burning question I have right now is how quickly people can run with boxes.
Waderider- please don't tar us all with the same brush. Some of us did try, but this stupid voting system of works for 2 parties....
Well **** me.
The trouble with Boris Johnson is that he thinks that he's the rich man's Margaret Thatcher.
I’m watching my mental health and .......
taking some drugs
Arse, yep think I might move to Scotland. Scotroutes has posted some nice photos recently.
Holy crap, I thought the Tories would win, but man, that is bloody depressing.
McDonald on the Telly now seems to act like the Labour HQ knew this was coming.
How many political asylum seekers do we think Scotland could cope with?
Better sign up for private medical insurance from work. Don't want to be getting ill now.
Yes, I turned over immediately
+1.
Hideously smarmy look on her face..
Oh and Corbyn's anointed replacement? Rebecca Wrong-Daily.
Kill me.
How wrong was the exit poll last time?
Stanley Johnson on Channel 4 is possibly madder than Boris.
As I left the house tonight to head to the polling station, my 5 year old daughter looked at me and pleaded for me to vote for a new Prime Minister. I asked her why, she sorrowfully said she didn't like Boris. Sadly looks like she will need cheering up in the morning.
Yeah - Scottish people aren't any cleverer than the English - they just have an alternative centrist party.
I think a lot of people are about to find out what neoliberalism really means. It’ll still be seismic, tbh.
Blame Labour's useless leadership?
If the exit polls are right then I suggest that this conservative majority is down to parliament blocking May's comparatively moderate Brexit deal and has played right into the hands of the extreme Brexiteers.Parliament obstructed the referendum result and the public have responded.Unfortunately I fear we are all now well and truly screwed.
Blame Labour’s useless leadership?
The membership started this. I don't blame Corbyn alone.
Unless you like watching people struggle.
Shirley if someone votes Tory, then gets screwed over by them, it's entirely their own fault and we're more than entitled to point and laugh.
Lights, bike, ride, forget (for a bit) 😢
If the result is true its also an indictment of our political system and our media.
Yes John, the good thing about sitting on the fence is that you can pretend it doesn’t matter. ****.
In 5 years’ time things will be so bad that there’ll be a swing back left.
The Tories have at least 10 years now. The boundaries will be redrawn. They’ll have a bill so that they can choose the timing of the next general election. They’ll stack the deck in ways we haven’t even thought about yet. Anyone still thinking this election was just about the next 5 years need a dose of realism.
Don’t pin all this on Corbyn. It’s way more complicated than that. I know you’re pissed off, but really. This whole thing goes back to Thatcher via Blair. Corbyn was the choice of the party because it wants a leftist agenda. So much led us to where we are now, not just Corbyn.
I’m sorry Molegrips but it’s not, he’s give the most repugnant PM since a Thatcher a majority not seen since she was in power.
Labour need a Blair moment, if they wheel out another hardcore socialist they’ll just be less popular.
Shirley if someone votes Tory, then gets screwed over by them, it’s entirely their own fault and we’re more than entitled to point and laugh.
Sure but the people who'll get screwed over might've voted Labour or not voted at all because they haven't got an address. We didn't all vote Tory. Please remember that.
Classic Seumas.
Long game, comrades, long game...
i feel sick
They have based the exit poll results on asking 24K people in several hundred constituencies and extrapolated to 30+ million votes - that is some weak ass data and incredibly poor resolution. If I presented that at work I would be laughed out of the meeting.
(clutching at straws....)
but it’s not, he’s give the most repugnant PM since a Thatcher a majority not seen since she was in power
I suspect if the labour leaving seats are the ones that have gone conservative, it'll mean it wouldn't matter who led labour or what they said. It will be down to leave.
Binners, I t’s hard to argue with that! Well said.
I’m sorry Molegrips but it’s not, he’s give the most repugnant PM since a Thatcher a majority not seen since she was in power.
HE did what he was elected leader to do. He couldn't run for leader on a leftist platform then suddenly change his mind to be centrist could he?
This isn't a boxing match, it's about much more than the two leaders.
Lol at corbynite line that it was Brexit. No. Momentum and JC have given us hard Brexit Boris for at least 5 years.
hardcore socialist
That wants to set tax at levels not seen since... ...the Tories?
Cheers Corbynites! You utter utter bunch of *ing *s!
This is all on you, you sixth form, placard waving bell-ends!
Go **** yourself.
Don't engage.
Don't change your mind
Giving in won't help in the long term. If you've said no, don't change your mind and say yes just to end the tantrum.

Agree with Binners, we in the UK do not have a culture of left wing politics of the Corbyn variety. Along with the many more personal reasons to dislike the man and his inner circle, this made this result all but pretty predictable - I said months and months ago that the labour leadership and their dithering would cause a massive backlash.
Can't say we didn't ****ing tell you.
1000 year Tory Reich it is!

No it was Brexit. Corbyn was trapped on the fence and that cost him. Victim of circumstance, because he made himself into the man who had to respect democracy. Blair won because he was messianic, he did what he wanted to do. Corbyn was never like that and couldn't have been.
the labour leadership and their dithering
It wasn't dithering.
Binners, I t’s hard to argue with that!
Not that hard to argue with binners "logic".
If Labour had come out for remain, as most on here have been asking for, the result would have been different? It would. Con majority would have been bigger.
IF the exit poll is right then Leave voters have come out in force and demonstrated that remainers are in the minority again.
Like others I hope the exit polls are wrong.I fear we will be disappointed.
No it was Brexit. Corbyn was trapped on the fence and that cost him. Victim of circumstance, because he made himself into the man who had to respect democracy.
Absolutely.
Electorate wants Brexit. The rest never got behind Corbyn enough to fight it.
Douglas Alexander on BBC Scotland.
"Corbynism has been tested to destruction"
Shirley if someone votes Tory, then gets screwed over by them, it’s entirely their own fault and we’re more than entitled to point and laugh.
Hard to point and laugh when we are getting screwed too.
