I love that album! Great band, just not very productive.
Just listened to the new Cara Dillon album, which is as good as I’ve come to expect from her, now listening to the new Wolf Parade album Cry Cry Cry, which I bought today, to be followed by Brix And The Extricated Vol2, which I also bought today.

How can you judge them as albums of the year if you've just bought them?

Blonde Redhead one is really good. Need to give it a few more listens.

Is that directed at me? If so, I draw your attention to the title of the thread...

TBH, I almost never get drawn into album of the year discussions, I can never make my sodding mind up, unless there’s one that just comes out of nowhere, like Funeral or Dummy.

I'm giving this its first listen, Portico Quartet - Art In The Age Of Automation. First impressions are very good, if you like it a bit jazzy.

I find myself listening to nothing apart from Broken Machine by Nothing But Thieves. I imagine they're aimed at the student market rather than me but I do seem to be addicted to the album.

This one just about passed me by ..
Ogilala..William Patrick Corgan ..
So that will be Billy then ..frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins .
Very stripped back ..you have to like Billys voice & lyrical style ..you won't find any bass guitar or drums on the album.
Acoustic guitar , other strings and keyboard and not a lead guitar in sight ..but hey ..I like it William!

Dan Auerbach ‘Waiting on a Song

^^Great to see that mentioned. He’s now made two cracking solo records.

Prophets of Rage
. Really enjoying the protest of this.

Ride - Weather Diaries
. Great return.

Don’t Get Lost. Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Steven Wilson - To E Bone.

TBH I've not listened to anything else new since. Lonely Robot - The Big Dream, is still in the plastic wrapping and I was really excited about it before release. It will have to wait until Steven Wilson wears out I think.

Is this a follow up to " To The Bone" 😆

If you like that ( I think it's excellent by the way ) ..try White Moth Black Butterfly " Atone "

To E Bone

That's what comes from trying to post on my phone. I can't see the typing box because STW doesn't play nicely with Safari and I'm forced to use Opera as a work around to stop constant logging out. It might be OK when the forum is updated in 2002.
