Trying to make my Croix de Fer a bit easier to use offroad.
Think the cassette is a 12-28. Anyone know if you can fit a larger cassette on the rear without needing to change the mech?

What mech and what chainring setup?
I use 32T with el cheaply 2300 mech and compact double with no issues when doing proper off road...
Current one is a 30, with 10 speed tiagra
My 'baby' CdF i.e. the cheaper Sora one! started off with a 12-25 as standard, which I immediately changed to 12-27. It's currently got an 11-32 on it which the LBS put on when I took it for it's free check up. The rear mech is the same, but I ended up with a new slightly longer chain. If I ever get fit I might revert back to a smaller range on the back, but I'll see how it goes for now.
