Well, I've developed some sort of lower leg problem. Feels like it could maybe be the soleus, but in that area anyway. It had been niggling me for a few days and probably not helped by my Ben Bhraggie run last week. I cancelled tonights running club group but did manage a cautious hour walk today

Not much snow left...

PXL_20251215_105127236.jpg

An hour on the turbo this evening didn't seem to bother it all, so that's good.

I was planning a half marathon on Solstice Sunday. Fingers crossed!

Went for a local ride today, was planning a couple of easy laps of the uni campus to warm up then a couple of hill reps. But the lap was icy, I nearly fell off and then did fall off so avoided the hill in case it was also icy. So not much in the end, but I slept for 10hours last night and feel the need for 10 more so an easy day is no bad thing right now.

"Xmas" Bootcamp last night. Not the one where you get to take games in and watch TV 😉

5 mins of 25 Burpees, 25 Jump Squats- repeat

1 min rest then 5 mins of 25 burpees, 25 single leg lunges with a weight, 50 floor sprints - repeat

1 min rest then 5 mins. of 25 burpees each finishing with jump on the box... you get the idea

At the end of 5 sets of those, 10 mins absolutely horrendous core exercises.

It's only 45 mins, but blimey I'm a broken man at the end. Back for Session 2 and TRX tomorrow. Think I'll have a nice easy run and maybe a swim today. Does not look like motivating weather for a night ride. 12 hours of rain starting now 🙁

My word I'm feeling tired, I do remember this from last year. Time of year, work, Christmas (boozing) all taking its toll. Not long to go, though. Festive hill run tonight (i.e. pint afterwards)

I'm not tired, just niggly injuries. As it happens, much the same happened last year when I decided to do the Marcothon (5k running every day) and found that my legs didn't like zero rest days. Ironically I decided not to do that this year, yet here I am with another sore leg 😂

IMG_1940.jpegIMG_1938.jpegIMG_1942.jpegIMG_1932.jpeg Two full days in the car this week messed up my streak unfortunately. But managed a 16km walk with the fam yesterday… and a snowball fight.

decent ride round the local trails with my eldest 2 on Saturday, yoga on sunday

Halfpipe on the skateboard on Monday

PXL_20251215_133711391.jpg

did a kettlebell workout yesterday evening but

I had an otb crash on a nightride last Wednesday, some pretty big slams skateboarding on Friday evening, and 1 fall on the halfpipe.... not sure which has dome it but my right elbow is stiff and very swollen, a doctor in work is adamant i need to go to a&e, so ill try and get in early and beat the queues for an x-ray

Are you sure your niggles aren't due to tiredness @scotroutes?I think my various niggles are.
Anyway an easy day today comprised of Weights, stretching and some essential massage.Truth be told I've had enough now and would like a week of now.

I haven’t been able to get as much outside riding as I had hoped, but thankfully the variety of gym, yoga classes and outdoor pool have kept it going and the niggly knee is slightly improved.

I have had to fall back to longer dog walks on a few days.

off to gym in half a hour and then a lunchtime yoga class, so all good 🤞👌

Managed an easy 5k run this morning. Started with a bit of a hobble but my leg seemed to be ok once I'd warmed up a bit. I'll try not to go overboard in the next few days.

Circuits and TRX back to back last night. I think the only part of my body that isn't sore is my left ear 😉

Looking back at my Strava for last Dec, (also 100 day challenge), I did a lot more miles/riding but that's pretty much all I did. I'm sure outside of the headline numbers, switching between swimming, running, gym and riding has more all round benefits. That's what I'm telling myself looking outside at the rain anyway.

If I want to meet my arbitrary target for kms, I'd need to do a lot of turbo between now and the new year. Can't see it happening.

Did a "light" turbo session last night, the third of the week and know that something is not right. I think I have had some sort of low grade something (bad sleep, slightly elevated HR) and the power in my legs is just gone. I have a weekend of not much planned, but I'm goign to be taking diog out for a longer walk at lunchtime today and will get some weights in tomorrow and sunday, see how that feels.

Got asked if I was going to be skydiving this weekend, but it's December FFS!

Swam yesterday but seems to be a pattern that I don't sleep well the night after a swim - chlorine reaction I guess. So after lying awake for some time in the night, I'm tired again today. It'll be lunchtime yogalates I think.

Popped out for a ride. Very wet and slippy (especially on those tyres) but the sun was out for the first time in a week. Legs felt battered tho, hope they improve for tomorrows proper ride.

Winter Solstice run with the running club this afternoon/evening. I loosely organised it so that folk would set off to do either 10km or a half marathon but choose their own start time and pace and aim to meet back at the car park.

I did a 10km, running in the opposite direction to the others, then provided food (well, home baking) and drink (hot ginger) back at the van.

Done a lot better than previous years but still no where near 100% mainly due to getting that rotten cold at one point, getting out for a ride each morning has been great 👍 plan to keep it up in 2026

Hope you're feeling better soon @ton

Decent ride out Saturday. Legs started tired but didn't get any worse. No top end power tho, but not quite limp home mode 😉

Yesterday I went for the run on my 10k event prep programme. Was thankfully a easy recovery run, but it didn't feel easy. Glad there are only a couple of days left. Circuits tonight, by which time i'm hoping the lingering effects of last nights MTB riders curry have eased a bit! Forecast looks okay here, so I think a ride and a run will see me through to the end.

Maybe I'll do one more Yogalates as well. My plan to do 4-6 a week never survived first contact with reality. Will also ride xmas day as I always do, and we've a big Wales loop planned for 28th. Between the two tho, nothing but cheese, pigs in blankets, assorted booze and guilt free sloth.

Well done all, however much you've done. It's a tough thing to keep going even if any individual day isn't that hard.

Well a kettlebell workout on Tuesday did my elbow no favours so trip to A&E on Wednesday morning had an x-ray- no breaks! Still very painful so no ff road managed a 20kride that evening round local bridalways and gravel, a 5k run on Thursday (which involved a lot of puddle jumping) a lunchtime skatepark session with lots of pads on friday, took the boys on a 20k bridelway loop on Saturday- ran into a pagan solstice celebration:

PXL_20251220_153746862~2.jpgPXL_20251220_153758106~2.jpg

Hungover yesterday, cycled with the youngest 2 to pick up the car we'd left at a friends the night before and then cycled into the city centre to pick up some xmas presents

I ran round yesterday's 10km route earlier, collecting the bits of reflective tape I'd left discreetly marking the route. Quite a few walkers and cyclists around.

My niggly leg has returned 😡

75 Kms road ride. Might do similar tomorrow. It's amazing the bounce back you get after being ill.

After a late booze on Saturday I went for a walk yesterday and did some yoga today (plus riding round here and pump track a bit).

Travelling tomorrow and if I don't manage to get out for a run before we set off I'll be failing at the penultimate hurdle.

Be a shame to fall at the last hurdle @jimmy - having said that, missing a couple of days hardly matters if overall you've significantly upped your daily exercise.

At least two of my "activities' barely justify recording. Some rubbish Yoga in a hotel room, and a long walk from same hotel room following night.  And I'd packed my running kit, but I couldn't be bothered!

Plan was for a 5k run today and muddy ride tomorrow. Felt good on the run so kept going. First 10k I've done since end March. May affect bike ride tomorrow 😉

What's everyone got planned for the last official day. I know a few here will carry on, but I'll still be toasting the 100 days with something appropriately unhealthy!

Chilly damp penultimate day but I thought I'd best put in a bit of an effort so I popped down to The Apiary in Dalwhinnie for a bite of lunch. 100km round trip at a fairly relaxed pace.

PXL_20251223_151220785.jpg

Tomorrow will be a bit more subdued as my daughter is with us for the festive season and exercise will be taking more of a back seat.

I got a decent run in this morning. Only 6km but it was still dark and I loved it, felt like I was galloping along.

2.5k in the outdoor pool this morning at David Lloyd, it was pretty deserted 👌😁.

Hopefully a couple of hours outdoor riding tomorrow, if not it’ll be a Zwift Wattbike spin to finish it off.  Been a good challenge.

10 km trail run today, slightly longer than intended but I was in an unfamiliar area and got slightly lost 😜

I haven't got a bike with me so tomorrow will either be another run or walk and explore.

45k 1,000m vert road ride today, all being well a short blast on the hardtail tomorrow to finish the challenge. I've managed a ride or walk outside everyday which has been nice but challenging due to the crap weather at points.

Last day activity is sponsored by "too much red last night" so I'll be riding with my spooneristic "Hadley Bungover" alter ego later.

Excuse to test the MTB win wing. I am somewhere between curious sand dubious on marketing v reality. Certainly got the local trails to test it.
