Two classes in the Gym. I can no longer feel my arms and my slightly twinge-y stomach muscle that hates burpees is definitely twinge-y. Going from zero classes to 4 a week might have been a bit ambitious.

Easy swim tomorrow I think following by some "liver training" in the pub!

Well, we managed a 7km run from the hotel before the heavens opened, and then a short walk on "Bens Beach" near Arisaig this afternoon while the weather was a bit soft.

Hard to know what is an injury, and what is just a consequence of increasing decrepitude 😉

Sore elbow tho. Had it over a year. Originally brought on my 'extreme painting' of our big shed. Pain comes and goes depending on how much physio I do. Other than that, clicky right knee, sore left knee, sore-ish shoulder after recent collarbone break. Otherwise in fine shape as evidenced by having to nearly eat cereal by lying face down in the bowl this morning 😉

That was a tough gym session on the arms.

I like to think that using Yoga & Pilates as "filler" exercises keep the injuries at bay. That was yesterday's, today have an evening bouldering session planned.

@jimmy - that's a very good point. I find those 15 min ones I posted earlier very easy to fit into my day. 30 mins sometimes breaches the 'can't be bothered' line, but half that is easily doable especially with so many different routines.

Going back to the Gym for me is mostly about not getting injured again. I definitely need to work all the non cycling muscles and get a bit of flexibility back. I'm also from the kind of old school thinking that if it's hurting, it's probably working!

Haha, I know that feeling. I aim for 45 minutes so I'm not doing bare minimum. Sometimes I'm watching the clock for my 30min exit point though!

Hard yards the last couple of days. Got this cold thats been going around and should probably gice myself a break.

Instead if that yesterday's yoga turned into a kettlebell workout and what was supposed to be 30 mins of zone2 on the turbo turned into an hour at the bmx track between the stormy bits.

Shagged now and need a lie down

I had a bit of travelling on  Friday but squeezed in a 1 hour VO2 Max session on the turbo when I got home.

This morning was a 30 minute bodyweight session and then I was out running later, taking advantage of a slight lessening in the wind and rain, scouting out a route for Mondays club run - just making sure no trees were down.

yep my knee is very delicate, cycling is fine  but running and skateboarding aggravate it, i know running is much better for cardio  but skateboarding is infinitely more fun, so i run occasionally but skateboard much more- did a Friday lunchtime skate at a skatepark nearish to work - covered one as it was raining

then skatebowl yesterday with the kids yesterday

Just a walk for an hour last night. Bodyweight stuff and hill reps this morning and will walk the kids for an hour before tea, too.

Swim-gym class x 2-MTB ride-gym-class x 2-Swim, Run, MTB ride.

That'll do me for this week. Feeling pretty weary but good to mix up the exercises and feel like I've done something worthwhile every day. Roll on next week.

A damp trail run today, avoiding some of the new obstacles that Amy has delivered.

The end of a week of trail running, badminton, weights and Zwift. I'm also trying keep a mix of things going, hopefully that'll reduce the risk of injury and over training. PXL_20251005_132031494.MP.jpgPXL_20251005_125255610.MP.jpg

A busy day with family stuff, and on the back of a very sociable late night with neighbours in for food and wine, and more wine…

I scraped through with a 40 minute Z2 ERG Zwift session…

A couple of hours riding round Rothiemurchus and Glenmore this aftrernoon, checking for fallen trees and so on. It's reaching that time of year when you can be out while the sun is dropping behind the hills and still be back in home for dinner. Lovely!

I've not failed today, but it feels like it. Dogsitting for a neighbour so was out early this morning for a walk, and a short one at lunch. Feeling weary so didn't do anything else, probably best just to call it a day and take the rest.

I've missed 3 days, but - I do try and make up for it a bit on other days and it's still keeping me motivated to see it through.

Certainly not doing big numbers compared to some, but over 21 days my mean average is 58 minutes/day - actual moving time and that's generally proper exercise.

Weights and yoga in the gym earlier then the Monday club run. Stupidly warm for an October evening and the torrential rain of Saturday has all but drained.

Been a few days since I've updated on here, but am doing a ride or run most days. The only day I've been a bit flaky was Saturday where I only managed 2 dog-walking potters.

9km trail run yesterday evening ...

PXL_20251006_170820093.jpg

And 20km extended commute this morning ...

Good effort all.

Had a lazy day yesterday- decided extra dog walk really didn't count so just got over the line with 2x15 YT YogaLates.

Back on it today, Spin into Bootcamp. 1hr30 of near death cardio experience.

Swim and a ride tomorrow.
