What is the brow pad like?
The current one is terrible at soaking up sweat and sends a river of it into your eyes.
They were selling them off pretty cheap though.
Interesting, I find the minimal pads work great for me... And I'm a very sweaty individual.
Also my sunglasses stay put really well on the old version.
I have issues with all helmets and sweat, natural sweatiness of the bonce and lack of hair there is a bad combo, I've chased a solution and tried quite a few helmets but nothing is a silver bullet. On the road I use a POC helmet and a Halo headband, but even that wets out eventually.
For MTB I've had a Speedframe Pro, I liked the helmet in general but did find the MIPS creaked, plus glasses storage was bad. I'm currently using the latest generation of Spesh Ambush which solves both these issues but it is no cooler (plus it was cheap in a sale). I'm a sucker for Fox kit though so will look at the new Speedframe when I need a new lid.
Nice looking helmet but when Specialized are selling tactics for under £50 they have a hard sell
Tactic just looks weird. Speedframe looks good and the vent under the peak is fab, but as Razorrazoo says, the MIPS creaks. Also rattles against bigger glasses, which is annoying. Would never pay full price for a new lid. Never have never will.
Does it have any sort of gopro mount? Pretty essential for me to get a head mounted light on my bonce during the winter.
Wow, just looked the the Spesh helmet prices, Ambush for £50 and Tactic for £35 at some outlets which is an absolute steal vs other helmets on the market. They definitely look better on the head than in pics. Must be new models in the pipeline for them too.
Oakley DRT5 Maven has a silicon sweat gutter thing instead of a pad, it works really well at keeping sweat out of your eyes it's on offer at RxSport
Buff under your helmet will soak up the sweat. Been using them for years. No stinging sweat in the peepers.
No stinging sweat in the peepers
No need if you've got a Neanderthal brow and eyes like Clint Eastwood in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly 🙂
