Good effort Phil.

I found what ever it is that's had me struggling the last few weeks. About half way through lap 5 I lost connection with my lungs. Oooh lordy I needed that but crikey that was nasty.

That looked bloody awful - I'm in for the same course at 19.50 if no takers for TT

Did they start at 800 watts ??!!

Ahem. Some crazy fool did. No one followed so he slacked off after about half a lap. ahem.
🙄

I expect he blew up somewhere on lap 5

Nice try. You know what they say - nothing ventured, nothing ... vomited into the bucket on the garage floor

In fairness I think I did gain - I've been trying to shift that gunk out of my head for weeks. I could have done without thinking I might choke on it and die but I'm glad for the outcome at least.

I think i'll leave it until next weeks TTT. I just need to go for a casual ride around the zwift countryside at the moment and get back into the routine of zwifting.

Je suis DrP !

Power dropout earlyish in the race (pretty brief and only down to 75w or something) left me chasing on. They had just started to calm down at the front and I leapfrogged a bit and did get onto the back but then I was knackered. Next trip up the cobbly hill I could only just hold them and the lap after, I was out the back door.

Ah well. Still beat my PB from a year ago on same course (but I think that's the bunch/draft, not me)

2 laps of Richmond UCI Worlds

Good practice opportunity for anyone who might need to stay on Phil's wheel around that course at any point in the next few weeks...

2 entries are in. I'll keep an eye that it stays that way, and post the entry link when it appears.

Bear with me for sign on.

I entered 7.40pm That zone has now apparently been deleted... but our entry in there is still preventing me entering another time slot

I'll enter 7pm unless 7.40pm comes back to life...

7.40 is still an option but it's zone 8 now. They've added some new zones in to the set up.

(@mrhoppy when I posted, zone 8 had disappeared off the wtrl listing. It's back, with all the pre disappearance entries restored, now).

You able to ride this week @savoyad?

If we are on one team I am happy to be dropped the 2nd time we hit Libby Hill and would put a big effort in for the first 30 seconds of the hill before dropping of to help the team out.

I thought so. I'm signed up anyway. It turns out I might be one week premature. It all depends on my wife's work (and on the rest of the family's attitude to 2x evening zwifts a week...)

We are still sitting on 7 entries, which looks like one team this week to me as it stands.

Any more takers? Enter category A here: https://www.zwift.com/events/view/1179250

I'm back onto Tuesday's now with the STW race series restarting, so please consider me out from now on unless I get a one off opportunity to join.

Good luck all!

I'll join in if there is enough B riders who want to race around at a slightly slower pace? I wouldn't want to join the A team as I think I'll be drifting off the back from the outset.
I'm happy to sit out this also so no need to split the faster riders to accommodate me 👍

I'll do a B team ride if there's a couple more takers.

Sign up! If you're in, the second team becomes more likely...I know your preferences and if it doesn't work out it's no problem.

Splitting them leads to better results - our "fast" team can do (very) well in latte, but it has to be max 3 Bs because with >3 B's it goes up to frappe and races against teams with 3xA and 5xBs - we have no A's, and whilst our faster riders are good at this they can't compete with that.

This is going to sound a bit grandiose, and I'll come back to it nearer the time but here goes: this will be particularly significant in a few weeks time when the Thurs TTT will be promoted as the World Championship. Our best latte team is potentially really very good, but we'll need 5Cs to ride with just 3 of our Bs to really compete at the pointy end that day (assuming people want to).

Where are the world championships going to be held? Do we gets stripes on our jersey?

THere's no concrete info yet beyond a date (23/11). They already pushed that back a couple of weeks (presumably because of the pileup of workload that ZRL is causing them). No stripes for the winners as far as I know...

I'm in. If you want a "3xB" A team I'm happy to be in the slower team as last race pushed me just up into B. Exactly the kind of B you don't want to be counting!

When’s the cutting off point for signing up team selection wise? I’m tempted to sign up but after injuring my ankle 3 weeks ago I could do with a bit more time to see how it’s feeling after yesterday’s race.

I'll distribute riders tomorrow late morning probably.
But it's OK (especially now you've warned us) to enter now and withdraw later.

I’m in. Can’t promise performance though. Just back from a 50 miler which can only be described as ‘type 3’ kind of fun. Rained on, cold biting wind, surface spray, to top it all off I couldn’t get a table at the cafe stop.
Anyway, feel free to put me in whichever group.

Tried posting 3 times to say I'm in, we'll see if this attempt works!

Edit. Looks like it finally worked.

Planning to join you all tomorrow but work has gone a bit crazy. I'm hoping another early start tomorrow will break the back of it though so all going to plan I'll be a bit cream crackered but able to race.

Reluctantly I think I will give it a miss this week. My physio daughter in law feels I’m maybe pushing things a bit too soon so I’ll probably race again on Tuesday and see how I am for next one. Shame, as I was looking forward to it and quite like the Richmond route but I don’t what to set things back. Have a good one everyone.

Don't worry it is on the race series in a couple of weeks so you can still do it!
