I'm going to come along this evening but it might be short lived. I went [whisper] outside [/whisper] for a ride this morning and or seems someone snuck in overnight and stole my legs 🙁

They might be back by this evening but it might be a bit of an ask of them.

Be aware it's a bit on the wobbly side tonight, took me two goes to sign in and then couldn't save. Shows ride on zwift app but says can't get ride details and hasn't gone over to strava.

Thanks for the group ride invites Weeksy, was hoping to actually do one this week, but i'm still struck down with last weeks food poisoning. I will get there one day!

It's not this morning's 30miler that's the problem. It's just that it showed me yesterday's handballing 8 ton of gravel plus a long walk might have been.

No changes to the plan for this evening?
I got on a bit early as my Wife and daughter have gone for a walk...

Calibrated the trainer after last ride....it was a bit loose apparently.

No idea what affect that will have had...

Warming up with some RATM - Renegades album.

Uploaded to Garmin okay but not Strava.

Yeah that was good. Those sprints were brutal. Good little battle at the end with a few. I believe DrP and a few others were about 2km ahead by that time 😉 Really enjoyed that last 30 second sprint at 59min30seconds.

I’m off for a lie down and a pint of Creme de Menthe 🙂

Rest days? That's a concept.

I did 30km outside today, 20km warm up, then the ride.

Still trying to get into the high 13st.

My warm up ride has uploaded but took a while. Hopefully servers are just slow. If not you can extract it from Zwift and upload manually. I hope it isn’t lost as I got a new 1 min power best!

Cracking ride chaps. Shame you can’t choose crit City for a group ride

I’m saving this image in case I need to see a heart specialist 🙂 Damn those sprints are just short enough that you can wring yourself out but just a bit longer than you wished they were 🙂

Rest days? That’s a concept.

Maybe I should explain.

A rest day means a day of manual labour under the direction and close supervision of SWMBO. Maybe after 8 hours of toil in the sun she'll let me have a stale bread crust and some like warm water to take the edge off - or a beer, either way.

I’ve spent many years being spectacularly rubbish at any kind of DIY. From not knowing which end of a paint brush to hold to drilling through important utilities such as water pipes and electricity cables. Such is my prowess with any tool whatsoever, it’s rare I’m even asked to dig anything up. In case I’m found in the neighbours garden ruining their begonias*

I still award myself a beer tho. Because everyone loves a trier 🙂

*allegedly. I’ve no idea. My view of gardening is if it’s green it’s a weed, if it’s red, it’s probably a tomato.

Well that was a disaster, set up issues at the beginning meant I was a lap down then I had a laptop battery fail as kiddo had been on it earlier and by the time I got it plugged in I was 40secs behind solo. Decent workout trying to get back on though.

McMoonter I am not. Unfortunately Mrs brain wouldn't know the difference between a hammer and a screw driver so I look like Tim Allen in home improvement (well, I look a lot like the other chap but that's not the point)

Good fun that, I definitely can't sprint though. I saw 800w I think briefly on the first sprint and I don't think I fully recovered until the end, legs like celery 🤣

Are we sorting a ride order and power targets etc or are we just winging out on the night?

Who's def riding, barring unforseen circumstances?

I’ll deffo run that course and plan again though. Assuming you fellas enjoyed it.

Flat courses and Sprints are not my forte, but I must admit it was a perfect course for this group and a fun hour’s riding. I just don’t know where the time goes - it seems like we’ve hardly started and it’s over.

Rest days? That’s a concept.

It is for us oldies.

See here DrP

OK that's not working as I hoped.

Page 335/336.

You want the post on 336 that starts "Our team is entered. 7.40pm on Thursday, Astoria Line 8.

Now you each need to sign up as individual riders. We need between 3 and 8 people. Here’s what to do"

Depends on what layout we end up on. If this one, greater London flat, lap 3 will be a flat out tempo fest.

But, I'm 100% happy to pick whatever layouts you guys want, hilly, tempo, sprinty.
I just enjoy the events, so you guys tell me the format you want and I'll do it

Yeah sadly it's the chance i take when doing early, but i'm not keen on the evening stuff more than 1-2 a week and i've already had one and have another tonight, so this was a little selfish on the timings, but that's kinda how it is sorry 🙂

Sorry I haven’t joined recently Weeksy, I tend to ride mornings as I struggle with the evening slot. Coupled with that for the last two days I’ve been jumping on Shane Williams charity 770 mile ride, I’m not doing the whole thing but using the morning ride which is 55m as the basis to try and get a 100km in each day. I’ve done two, not so sure I’ll be fit for tomorrow but we’ll see.

Hope to jump on with you guys in the future but please don’t waste a spot by holding an invite for me at the moment.

I think Weeksy, with all the amazing work you are doing with the group ride arrangements etc, you have a right to be selfish and get what suits you sometimes.

No worries, I won't hold it against you 😉

Hey Weeksy. Another bailer here I'm afraid. Legs are goosed after the Watopia Cup MTB race last night. I fancy a long slow one outside in the morning;)

My plan is to make it back in time to join you. I'm heading out on the bike to enjoy the sunshine for a while (and do a bit of that 30 day wheelie challenge thing), timing is unlikely to be too difficult, resisting a beer when I come in might be however.

Great ride, although I had about 15 mins of Wi-Fi issues not long after the start and then my laptop crashed 2 mins before the end after that last sprint...
Luckily I found the activity file and I think it captured all of the ride up to the crash

Bad News, 10!
How did that happen?

Faulty outside tap spraying back into the basement. Although it pretty much got everything we have stored down there, it seems to have not caused any damage. My shop vac did a good job of getting the water up. Just concrete floor thankfully. Lot's of soggy boxes, but dry contents.

Missed my trainer and fans though!

If you're on Zwift today, my missus is on for the first time, riding 108km as a fundraising event with her work on behalf of the charity I work for - she's on as Catriona.Pratt (SiMY) EY 2.6 or something like that. If you could give her a 'ride on' it'd be much appreciated.

If you fancy throwing a couple of quid her way, you can do that via Just Giving
