I think Weeksy was having turbo flame-out issues. I couldn’t really read the messages towards the end as my eyeballs were burning 😉

Fairly spicy that last 10 mins.  I mean it’s not a race or anything. But if it was, I think I won 🙂

I did intervals yesterday, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

🙂 I did nothing. In fact apart from a short ride Sunday, I’ve done nothing all weekend.

I nearly gave up 2 mins out. If it had been anyone else but you with me Dave, I would have!

Yep that last 15mins got a bit racey 😀

I had to do a big chase back to the front group as just as Weeksy left my kids came in to say goodnight and I lost the group lol

thanks for organising - i had connectivity issues which cost me 20 mins but I fixed it an rode for an hour - still not sure how the race finishes.

Is it possible to see the other riders times and stats once the race is finished?

Till the next one

Definitely. I’m a danger to myself. Not sure getting a FTP upgrade and a new Max HR is terribly responsible. Next one I’m staying in the pack!

@jaminb - you should see a bar counting down to 00:00 at the top of the screen. So the riding finishes wherever you when it hits that. Then there’s a graphic with the meet-up name and the time. If you didn’t get that, you probably dropped out of the meet-up.

Not a Zwift expert but I don’t think you can see any stats as it’s not a a ‘race’ or one of the club events.

Nice riding with you all today, especially fun as things sped up towards the end. Just a shame Weeksy wasn't with us for the whole session, must be very frustrating for him.

Thanks for organising it Weeksy. My first STW group ride and really enjoyed it. Definitely be back to do another when shifts allow. I’ll have to make sure I’m wearing the right top next time. Which one is it ?

When trying a spindown I hit 0w. Then couldn't get FE-C at all. So tried just using the snap setting but every 20s or 30s I got 0w and lost pace, then ok for a few mins then dropout again. Ended up losing 3s on group and had the power to get back but every time I tried, it did it again and again!

sounds like I missed another fast one. Ended up doing a bit of Richmond on my own but wasn't feeling it so stopped after just after 20 minutes. Suffering from the hay fever I think. Probably for the best I didn't make the STW ride

I just missed the start due to pairing issues (seems to take ages on my MacBook compared to iPad) left it to late really, next time!

Oh Jesus! That was a fruity one tonight.

It didn't start off too fast, but all of a sudden it went nuts. I hung with a group for about 10 mins, but had to call it a day....group was among others A Atkinson, LJ, C Hudson, R (Robbo1234?), Tunstall......

As soon as the pace went up, I was struggling - I blame the 15km run I did on Sunday...!

Nights are getting warmer & lighter, so it feels like I should reduce the Zwift action & actually get out riding. But - Zwift is good fun & definitely it's much easier to push harder when there are people around you.

I'll see if I can get my issues resolved tomorrow and sort another for Thurs or Fri. Not seen this issue with losing FEc so a bit strange

Once I lost the wheel on the incline into the trees on the 2nd lap the front group pulled the gap out fairly fast. But it was a good group with stumpy and co. I did find it a little hard to keep track of myself in the group at times and kept finding myself either falling back or drifting off the front a bit too much.

When I started today my trainer felt far too easy. So I paused, did a quick spin down, and everything seemed better. Had to ditch a little early so missed all the crazy stuff of the last 15 mins. Looking forward to the next one.

My ANT+ issues the other week were dodgy USB ports on the front of the computer. They've done it before but have been fine for 12 months.

Hi Stumpy. Yeah, I (Tunstall) was in that nice little group who drifted off the front when teacher left the class! A good workout. See you next time.

Yeah i did a laptop reboot, then a FW update on the Snap and i think we've got there.. Was still showing 0w on the FE-C at first this morning, but now i have proper response.

If anyone has an interest in a ride say tomorrow i can set one up for then, but i think i'll do a 3pm ish Crit City today to keep my hand in.

Thanks for organising again Weeksy. My phone stopped mirroring with about twenty minutes to go which made it difficult to keep up with what was happening. A phone screen is not really sufficient at that kind of pace! Zwift upped my FTP by about 15, so not surprised my legs hurt at the end. Having said that, when warming down my road speed seemed a bit high in relation to my power output so maybe my trainer needed a recalibration. Looking forward to the next one.

Weeksy, are you doing the 14.45 City Crit or the 15.00 ZHQ one? I might join you if you need a wingman?

Doh, I'll put my settings on GMT. Shorter one would suit me better if I can get my work done by then. Don't know the Crit course at all but will give it a go.

Ta for the invite for Friday Weeksy but I'll at least be technically at work still at 4pm, even if I'm working from home I should make the effort to be able to answer the phone if needed and traditionally the last few hours on Friday are the busiest of my week.

Right then boys and girls.

4pm Friday up the Ring... Insbruckring that is 🙂

Sure we'll get some splits up the hill, but will be fun too and we may mix it up with a couple of sprints in there as well, maybe even a KOM on one of the laps.
Assuming we can all gather up again after, we'll be onto a winner.

Can't make Friday's ride as I'll just be finishing at 4. I might actually put the proper rear wheel on and take my road bike outside!

I might manage an early one on Sat/Sun too, not 06:30 early again though 😉

You coward.

I thought I might give a 6.30 start a go tomorrow in place of my commute* if I'm not needing to be in the office.

*I don't think I'll try the alpe though.

Yes I am, I woke the wife last week with the racket and she was none to chuffed 😂

Although she did suggest that a direct drive trainer might be quieter so maybe it'll be worth a couple of hours of silence 😉

I sold the cost of a direct drive turbo to my wife on the fact it is was quieter. Turbo and bike is in the lounge so allows her to watch crap on tv at the same time.

Bloody hell, that ride yesterday put my FTP up by 50 watts.

Can't make that early on Friday, I tend to zwift later evening but after 6.30-7ish is do-able.

None of the rides start fruity, they only end that way... and only if you want it. The first 30 mins are reasonable, then a bit up for 30-45... then it's a free for all.

I've been very lazy and eaten about three times my body weight in mini eggs today so I'm going for a ride-in tomorrow at 7.00am.

Three sisters, set for an an hour. I've no idea if that's enough to finish the route or not but figured it'll keep me moving at least.

If anyone fancies it let me know and I'll send some invites

I cant make today either - some scheduled a work call right through it. I think they are just trying to point score as no one needs a conf call at 4 on a Friday. Just did 90 mins at lunchtime instead!

Good fun, never done a group ride before and managed to hang on until the last hill.

Confused by how my average was only 189W (did have to slow down a couple of times though).  May have to recalibrate.

Thanks for organising another great ride Weeksy. Couple of observations.

The 'bee' Jersey was a bit popular tonight.

Be nice if chat could be limited to group only.

When it is that busy the fact Zwift only renders 100 closest riders means you cannot always see the beacon if off front or back.

Would not like to try and keep up with most of you in a sprint.

Looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyed that course, tough!

Couldn't get the sprint below 20s

In a grump thinking my turbo was out I did a spin down calibration afterwards - ....

Turns out the turbo is perfectly calibrated and the problem is me 🙁

I can't set any chat options etc sadly.

I wouldn't like to race any of you in a sprint either?!!! 13w/kg lol. No way!

Good work keep together. It's hard to find courses to suit and that are quiet.

Sunday then. Let's see what's about

Unfortunately I was 5mins late because of the W bit of WFH, and Zwift wouldn't let me join the group. But I found you anyway although I couldn't see your chat or any of the other features of being in the group.

But it was nice to have some familiar names and jerseys to ride around with.

Hopefully I'll not be late next time.

Yeah another good one. Fun course. As Weeksy said the climb is 5w/kg for ‘C’s, that what I tried to match on the last lap. Then tried to get a PR on the sprint. Fairly sure I failed both 🙂

Was good to keep the group together through heavy traffic.

Where was the front of the group?  I was with magnetodog most of the time and kept dropping back to keep with Weeksy’s group before getting dropped mid way up the final climb, but wasn’t sure   where front of group was.  Zwift is totally new to me so just getting into the swing of it.

Wow that was great fun - i could actual see the group and had an idea what was going on. Thanks all for waiting for me! I think I might be expecting too much from FTP Builder - I need a bloody miracle.
A further stupid question, if I had been less than honest about my weight - would there be less resistance?

Thanks for organising see you sunday

You'd go faster. Simple as that. So you'd find it easier staying in group.

No shame in it, if it makes the rides more enjoyable, go for it.

Sounds like you had fun shame I couldn't make it, but I'm in for Sunday's ride! I think Weeksy is trolling us that he hates hills 😉 You do realize that is the steep way up the KOM??

See you all Sunday for the pain!

Thks for organising Weeksy - not done that circuit before, enjoyed it. Nice grouping but my legs were a bit tired and the hill was asking me some questions, so fell off the back a couple of times.
Had enough to give the sprint an assessment, couple of tickles and one proper sub 20 effort. Think Andy showed his class last lap with a sub 19, which is a fair shift like.

Lol just trying to keep people interested. Trust me, I'd take a 280w flat fest over these hilly things any day of the week.

I do need to stop racing on the non group days. I'm on nearly 600km this month and my legs are very much not my friend

Thanks again Weeksy, really enjoyed that circuit. Starting to get everything sorted now so phone kept mirroring to the tv all the way through. First time I had music playing as well which made a big difference in taking my mind off the effort. Just out of interest, how do you know where the sprints are and when they start?

Have you turned the hill simulation down?
It's certainly not cheating - I discovered the slider after putting it up to full in one of those "ohhh I wonder what this does" moments of stupidity. Its back to normal now! On Googling what the default was to put it back I came across it as a recommendation for racing as apparently you can use it to definitely-not-cheat by making it easier to pedal up hills and easier to pedal hard down them instead of spinning out. )
