So last winter I did a bit of Zwifting to keep my fitness up when my riding buddies couldn't ride and I thought I'd do the same again this winter. Last night I went to connect everything to Zwift but nothing seemed to work.
I have a dumb trainer so have a speed sensor, and cadence sensor and my Garmin watch for HR. I could see the speed and cadence sensors on the connection screen so did those but I couldn't see the watch on the HR connections. I had the watch broadcasting the HR so it should have been there.
I gave up after a while a tried a ride without the HR, just the speed and cadence, but my little rider wouldn't move. It wasn't showing any speed but it was seeing the cadence so new I was pedalling. The speed sensor was transmitting as my watch had the speed showing.
I realised after a while that I had a new phone which I was using to running Zwift on. Maybe that's the problem? Bluetooth was switched on before anyone asks about that.
Anyone else had these problems? Is there a setting I'm not doing properly? I'm doing everything I did last year when it worked fine, but it's not now at all. Heeelp!!
Did you go back into pairing screen and check everything was still connected?
In Zwift choose Menu and it's one of the options on the right hand side.
It sounds like your speed sensor dropped off for some reason.
When I first started using a new tablet earlier this year, the first few times it would connect and then lose connection, or say connected but also 'no signal'.
It settled down after a couple of weeks and not had a problem since.
Stupid question have you restarted you subscription

No I didn't do that. I'll try again when I next get time to look at it.

No I've not, I was going to use my free 25km. It's the same set up as I did last year (also using the free 25km to start with)
Ok, I think the speed sensor is now working as it shows speed on the connection screen, I didn't try doing a 'ride' but it was getting a speed reading so hopefully will work in the game too.
Still no idea why my HR isn't connecting. I've tried a chat with Zwift but they're only working American times at the moment, or so it seems.
I tried connecting my Garmin watch for HR and it was crap for some reason.
It kept randomly disconnecting.
If you can afford it, you can get a Bluetooth HR strap for ~£20.
I got a Magene one from Amazon & it works really well.
Pleased to hear the speed sensor seems to be connecting now.
I think I've found the source of the problem... My new phone which is an
A Samsung S20 FE does not have Ant+ hardware and the watch only transmits in Ant+ so they can't communicate with each other. Looks like I'm going to have to get a separate chest HRM for turbo workouts.
