Oh come on us northerners know it's wall to wall sunshine for 364 days of the year in the south, we have the beeb to thank for that.

Today and yesterday I saw loads of slugs but it wasn't moist at all (other than me sweating buckets because its so humid) here in West Sussex. What's up with them all?

I remember riding to school one day and running over a slug about 100 yards from my door. I was late so didn't stop, and it stuck to the front tyre for the entire five miles to school. Schlup schlup schlup schlup schlup. Sticky buggers.

That was over 20 years ago, funny what stays with you isn't it? Can't remember the quadratic formula or French irregular verbs for shit, but that slug is still there in my memory, clear as the day it died.

Try treading on one barefoot, the slime really doesn't want to come off. How hedgehogs can eat them I don't know.
