Got an email offering a chance to buy from their ‘Limited Stock Event’.
I don’t think I could get away with this tbh.
with the size of my gut right now, that's what my gilet looks like anyway - burst zips and skintight.
Not sure about the colours mind
Jockey chic? Comes pre-impregnated with the whiff of horse?
Whiff of lavender more like.
Hmm thats a new brand to me. Their USP doesnt add up though, they state other brands clothes are expensive because of the store costs and (over)stocking and marketing costs - and their "make it once youve pre-purchased it and send it direct" business model has bibshorts costing £200 - thats the same as the other "luxury" brands that make it advance and pay influencers to market!!!
How the Kostüme pre-order system works
make it once youve pre-purchased it and send it direct" business model has bibshorts costing £200 -
I prefer their bibshorts to other brands which retail at the same price. Kostume would say that's because they spend more on the product: all I know is that they are supremely comfortable on multi day audaxes.
I’m mates with the founder. His ethos is that by preordering and limited runs he can produce a better quality product at a similar price due to less waste and fewer returns.

If they did versions that didnt make you look like Timmy Mallet then more people might try them.
I read the thread title and expected something from Ikea
I have some Kostume bibs, they're decent but not better than anything else I have in the same price range
I think my favourite thing about this thread is that the OP has photographed a computer screen (presumably on a smart phone?) to share and mock an image for it’s ‘Nathan-Barley-esq’ hipster nonsense…
Nothing could say “down with the kids” better IMO. 😉
Didn't they just have some "perfect" never to be repeated because they cost to much to make winter bib longs for about £300 which they said should cost £400?
The influencers will be creating their PAS normals over them
His and hers matchy stuff was/is always ripe for ridicule.
It's a no from me.
The influencers
You mean cheap corporate advertising fodder. ****ers to the man everyone of them. GTF with your unboxing, fairy lights and boggle eyed handbag dogs. Sell-out bootlicking liggers.
I have 2 pairs of their bib shorts and whilst expensive they are the best bibs I have - you can even pee without taking them off 🙂
I don’t think I could get away with this tbh.
No, me neither.
But fair dues to those who can. It's just clothing as an expression of personality and things that make people feel good - and bikes are certainly one of those things.
tbh I think it's good looking kit, more aesthetically sorted than a lot of cycling gear tbh.
you can even pee without taking them off
Depending on your personal standards you can do that with any bibs, though.
I am struggling to see what the issue is?
Is it that they are pink? Says alot more about the OP than the product 🤣
If they spattered them with the name of some Belgian potted meat . a national lottery of some variety and a paint manufacturer they'd be much more acceptable here
I could go for that, maybe not all the pink at once, but the vest or the jersey with something else.
If it was on a skinny rat-boy model instead of that dude it would look a lot better, it looks too baggy.
I am struggling to see what the issue is?
I bet you're not, really.
Oh, i see what the issue is alright but i fail to see why the issue is
I'd wear it, no problem with pink. For the good of others eyesight i wouldn't but if you have the physique to not looks like a frog pinned out for dissection it looks absolutely fine.
I am not sure whether to be flattered or scared to see this on here 😆
A couple of quick points just for clarity:
- The £300 tights should actually cost more than £400 if you were trying to make 'usual' margin on them Consider that the fabric alone costs 100 Euro's a metre. Now factor in the two other still-very-expensive fabrics on there, the transfers, the straps, the custom-made chamois, sewing it all together, importing it and selling it. But if you ride long distance in all weathers like our core customers do, there is nothing else out there that gets close.
- As for the USP, it does add up. If you are happy about half (in some cases more) of your money you spend on any product or service being completely wasted, then that's your choice. Some brands spend 30-50% of the cost of a product just to acquire your order via Meta ads. Most have return rates around 25-50%, which typically doesn't get resold. All have very high margin leak through heavy and frequent discounts. And massive operational overheads. How much of a £200 pair of bib shorts do you think is actually being spent on the product?! Because I know for a fact we are spending 2x even 3x what some brands spend on theirs. So it's not really about the price (which also contrary to the OP we are still a good chunk cheaper than other 'premium brands' it's about what you are actually getting for it. There is a good reason why our bib shorts have never scored less than a perfect review in the press, and has a near-perfect Trustpilot. Even as a consumer I never really understood why people are so quick to try to pick holes in things. But as someone offering a genuine and proven solution for a problem that is literally killing a lot of brands, it does trigger me 😝
- We've got some pretty big announcements coming tomorrow that put our relative product performance into perspective 🙃
Saw someone wearing this yesterday, in fact it could have been the dude in the picture there. It looked good actually.
