yeah i've really grown to like it. shifting up and under pressure is so good

Apparently the shape of a Shadow mech means they can't be made as rapid rise. And as Shimano see Shadow as the best design that is the way they are going.

hmm i've not used a shadow mech, are they really that good or a bit of a shimano phase do you think, not that i'm changing mine until it breaks..

didn't it also tie in with the end of dual-control shifters/brakes?

Shadow ^
Note the small almost mech hanger like piece of metal which attaches to the actual mech hanger. It also sits more inboard to its meant to stop being ripped off by rocks etc.

In reality, I have one, and underwhelmed, its a mech it works but now I think I may have bent the extra mech hangery thing. If it aint broke...
