[#2665368]

Seems to be a bewildering number of bikes in this price bracket.

Need a full sus bike for an improving novice to intermediate rider looking to make the most of what UK trail centres have to offer intially and then venture out off-piste into the wilds.

What are your folks opinions as to the best bikes in this category (below £2000)?

Id be going straight to Canyon's website, otherwise what does the best LBS carry?

z1ppy - new is what I'm after

titusrider - In this price range LBS stock standard brands, i.e. Scott, Specialized, Cannondale, Commencal, Cube, GT, Kona, etc.

I feel the sensible thing is just don't think about it and lump for a Specialized. But on the other hand that's too obvious and your expert thoughts would help.

Mental M : Giant looks a good bargain - will consider.

titusrider : Canyon's look a good deal too. Anyone rate the Canyon Nerve?

Marin Attack Trail 2010 on wards, comes with 150mm on the rear and capable of a 160mm fork, amazingly fast and confidence inspiring ride.

The Giant Reign x2 on pauls is a good deal, the slightly loner travel may give you more scope in the wild, and the Fox fork is beefier than the Sid IIRC.

YT Industries do what would appear to be a lot of bike for the money. Looks vaguely like the Transition Covert.
