Xtm8000 mech question

For a 1x set up with 11/42 cassette would I need a medium or a long cage mech?

32 tooth chainring if that makes any difference!

+1 for medium, the long cage is best suited to 2x11 applications, although I am running one with an 1x11 11-46 cassette setup on one of my bikes. The medium cage definitely shifts betterer in this configuration.

Yep Medium is good on my 11-47 (OneUp extender) and 30T chainring all shifts perfectly - Just size the chain properly and it will be fine.
