I need a new cassette, currently have 11-42 XT M800 and have no desire to increase range, so would you go for another XT or the Sunrace one?

They're about the same price so that makes little or no difference

I got the 11-46 Sunrace because its much cheaper than the Shimano one

have used it for about a month with no issues. The 11-46 has a better second ratio in my opinion.

I think the sunrace one is lighter. Been running the ten speed sunrace one for a while, no issues

I've been looking at this too:
SunRace - 11-46 - 465gr - 665kr
Shimano XT - 11-46 - 450gr - 829kr

local prices, but quite a difference and only 15grams in it.

Have a clubmate with the SunRace and it seems to have handled winter fine

Was in a similar dilemma recently, except 11-40 not 11-42. I went for the Sunrace, because the ratio steps looked better and it was that smidge lighter.

Ebay

That Ebay link is for the heavier MS8 so not really comparing like with like. High On Bikes have the MX8 for £60.
