Hi, Everyone.

I have the above and have fitted it to my bike ok. It allows top and bottom cable access, and I need top. However, the cable routing seems very poor as the cable has to come a long way away from the seat tube to reach the clamp, making a triangle shape. I am concerned that this will catch on things and wonder what I can do.

All suggestions gratefully received!

Many thanks,

Dom.

Hi Dom,
Top pull should look similar to this;

Admittedly looks a bit odd but is correct, works OK, and doesn't catch on anything!

PS. Any luck with headset?

Yep, it looks like that. At least I can crack on now. Still reckon it's not the best system, however. Thanks for your help, Coleman.

Kind regards,

Dom.

Coleman - the headset has been ordered after a chat with Giant. I went for an FSA Orbit integrated and followed your advice too about bearing angles of 36 and 45 degrees. Got it for £18, which I feel is a good price. Now I am after some Hope Pro 2s with Mavic XC717/719 (what's the difference?) and some Rebas!

Thanks again for your help,

Dom.

Dom. Thanks for update. Hope headset fits- will feel guilty if bearings are not 36 x 45!
Sounds a good price for the FSA headset. Hope you enjoy your new frame.
Cheers.
