Can i only use Shimano replacements for my M770 chainset - specifically the middle one?
Looked about and cant see any others saying theres fit

you can use any 104pcd ones iirc. I "MAY" have a 6 ride old slx middle ring for sale at the end of the week
or the new slx middle ring is £24 at crc
