I like this idea.
Good for spectators (in as much as they're going to be allowed!), might even make it better for TV.

Seems like a decent opportunity for technical climbs too, as any bottlenecks wouldn’t be as much of an issue.

Good point. Courses could be designed differently without the need for overtaking opportunities. Could also use more alternative route pieces, faster/riskier v slower/safer.
