Friends son has seen Miss CFH's new Giant, and wants one. He's a bit taller, so the ARX 26 was top of the list, but look to be totally sold out.

Anything else out there? Not looking for phatt tyres or suspension, think this sort of thing,

Simple, light, fast. Oh, and around the same £345 price of the Giant if possible, new not 2nd hand. Trek Wahoo 26 looks close, but bit pricier and I think it's a 2021 model so might be an even longer wait. I know stock availability is going to be an issue, but searching for other ideas.

Not 26", but noticed some of the "Superior" range recently in at PX caters for kids in 20" and 24" wheel varieties.

Cube aim slightly over budget at Pauls. Not 26" and not rigid though.

Dawes Academy or Squish are certainly worth a look.

Wahoo 26 is nice but availability is currently looking like being November.

Frog 69 or 73 are about £400 I think. Probably same boat as most of the others with stock though.

My daughter's Islabike Beinn is a 26" wheel. Lovely machine but over budget new. We got hers on eBay.

I recently bought a pair of Trek Wahoos for my kids. A 20 and a 26 for a 6 year old and 11 year old respectively. Both really nice bikes, and surprisingly, the 26 is lighter than the 20! It must be the frame even though it looks identical to the frame on the 20, the rest of the kit on the bikes is the same.

Evans apparently have blue 26s in stock, although my experience buying ours from them was shocking. Took them a month to arrive, even though they were in stock, and communication was non-existent.

+1 for Wahoo 26 if you can get one.

Tyres are a bit crap so swapped for 1.75 SB8s…
