come and play at the hawarth mud man in a nouple of weeks, open to all age ranges and has the added "benifit?" of being a duathalon so lots of running up and down big hills as well ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Cyclocross. every other week all over winter, all over yorkshire. only takes an hour or two, only as competitive as you make it. I seem to remeber you asked about "summer XC races for young people" a few months back and I'm pretty sure I said "Cyclocross". I know my rut and i like it.

don't need a crosser for cross racing, just race your mountain bike ๐Ÿ™‚

I've never seen an XC race that's over 18s only, check out XCRacer, see if there's owt on there.

2nd the haworth mudman, its much more suited to riders than runners. if you can travel there is also mtb duathlons at whinlatter and hamsterley in november.
