how's it riding now, still axle deep in gloop in places? have the FC stopped chopping bits of it down, are the same trails there from last year or have they disappeared under the churn of logging vehicles and uncollected branches?

it would seem not... though I'm not surprised, bloody wet there last time I went, and it usually takes until august to dry out again.

Rode there with Mick on Wednesday.

Trails starting to dry out nicely but still some muddy bits (isn't there always?). FC has ruined some bits of it but the majoriy of the main trails seem fairly unaffected. Did 17 miles and it was a nice ride.

Some retard has decided that Camber is where they want to walk their doggies so should not be used by bikers and as a result there were a lot of branches and large stones placed deliberately on the trail but they were all rideable so not a huge issue.

Another 2 dry days since should have dried up a few more of the wet bits so i'd say go for it if you're planning a ride there.

Rode the Wyre yesterday & today, its drying out very nicely, took the mud tyres off too...

The weekend should be good riding in the Wyre, I dont think any more rain is forecast...

As above, the jedi and the deer run before the ankle cracker is in a bit of mess, with all the forestry work going on....but most of its ok...

Just got back from riding in the Wyre.
I'd definitely recommend it for the weekend, not too wet at all.
The singletrack from the end of the railway down behind Park House to the bridge has got a load of logs across it as well. Nothing that even I couldn't ride over.
The short steep drop off the railway line towards Cooper's Mill has been blocked with a big pile of brush. The drop next to it round the gate is still clear, so you can still get down to Dowles Brook, it's just the steep cinder one that's blocked.

It's a big pile to shift on your own.
Do a bit and I'll do a bit next time I'm passing. It'll soon be gone. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll use my patented "throw your body over the bars into it" method

I'll probably stop and have a look, think "Oooh, that's a bit steep", then go back to the gate.

I've never seen anywhere like Wyre before for logs etc strewn over the tracks to try and discourage riders. My nine year old actually likes bouncing over them but still seems like an odd mentality.

I was up there last night, and Saturday just gone. It is drying out nicely, but as expected still some muddy patches. I was on very worn high rollers and they were fine.

I'd say I know my way around there fairly well, but I dont know names of any of the sections so I can't really give any more details.

well technically there are only a few "legal" routes for bicycles in the forest, so i guess they are within their rights to disrupt the fun, crappy as that is

A group of us were out yesterday, logs everywhere, adds fun to some of the trails by proving lots of bunny hops!

Whoever is doing it, must be wasting a lot of time and energy in doing so. It was clear on Friday afternoon, then Saturday they appeared.

We cleared quite a lot of it, but no doubt it will come back....its stupid, it doesnt make any difference to most riders, but I was out walking with my sister and her dogs, she tripped over! so its walkers they are aiming at too !

we did some trail clearing today too,...big springy tree/branch we had to bend round another tree, if it had flexed back it would have lifted me off my feet and thrown me a few feet ๐Ÿ˜†

dusty in parts today too! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Indeedy, it was lovely yesterday

Edit: didn't see too many of the sticks, or forestry work that was causing many access issues (secret garden, garlic run, pepsi-cola, & dog kennel)

Great ride yesterday. Mud almost gone. Most of the forest work seems to be round the top of the Garlic Run and the track that runs past the top of Camber. A few sticks scattered about on Camber but Caravan/Dog Kennel all clear. Huge pile of sticks at the top of the drop to Coopers Mill f/b!

Yep and the 'new' drop in, just a metre away, up will cause more damage.. stupid of them to try and block up these routes - it's not going to stop anybody (did pull a few branches off the pile but my m8's were being impatient).

Is pepsi cola like pepsi max but a sweeter version? ๐Ÿ˜€

๐Ÿ˜ฏ only really heard of the trail names in passing (not even sure this one is pespi-max, as there two trails almost next to each other), don't ride with anyone who actually knows the 'proper' names.

ok - ok, to be fair you are about the only person I've met in forest who knows the trail names, ever other name I've picked up from descriptions on t'internet!
