You make a lot of sense.
You seem to be extremely worked up about this Oakwood.
I just think its funny. I think you are funny.
Funny? Funny how? Like I'm a Funny guy? Like I amuse you?
🤣
A cross between children's TV presenter and catalogue model.
That's how my other half describes my cycling clothes. The result of buying the coloured clothes that end up heavily reduced in the sales because black or grey makes more sense... especially true of trews, shorts and socks. Not sure why clothing manufacturers never get the message from their sales figures... save the interesting colours for tops. I'll keep dressing like a clown if it saves me money though (and it often makes me smile on a grey day).
If you look back up through the thread you will see who started ranting and calling people "sad old gits", though.
Tell us more about the spotty bag, where do I find one?
Indeed I'm feeling that Polaris may not happen
Would you launch a cycling soft goods company in the current market? I bloody well wouldn't.
Just had a quick click around the Endura site: some looks quite nice, some a bit bland, some a bit hipster.
Filter by "Mountain" from the main page and it shows zero results for me though [facepalm emoji]
Don't panic the Singletrack and Hummvee Endura ranges are still just the same as they've always been.

I think the contact is:
mrtumble.design@endura.com
If it's of any interest, Merlin are currently having some sort of Endura clearance event (perhaps to make was for the new stuff). There are some good discounts on a lot of their stuff.

When you have a bike ride in the morning and a spirit cleansing in the afternoon 🤣
Not be lumped in with the "shaking my fists at clouds" crowd as I generally think 99% of cycling clothing looks incredibly uninspired, but this is waaay too far in the opposite direction.
Slouched beanies off to them though, at least they're trying something different.

That's not your choice, though. You may well be lumped in if joshvegas fancies trying to start a ruck with you - for some unfathomable reason.
🤷♂️
🤣
Endura are significantly more northern than hebtroco
Were more northern
They are owned by Pentland Group now, so 'Endura' is just a name. No manufacturing in Scotland. No warehousing in Scotland. (Hence that clearance sale above.) Although, UK head office is Sunderland so I guess they may still be more northern, if that's important when talking about mega-corporations. 😀

Eh? I didn't start any Ruck?
I made a non directional (at a specific person atleast) opinion piece. You got humpty about it and decided to babble on about spotty bags?

Some excellent points.
I had actually assumed pentland were scottish you know... Coz Pentlands.

8 years ago, I think. They were bought out pre-Covid, but didn't do much until the last few years when they made some massive changes to Endura's operation.

Thats a shame, I didn’t realise the company/brand had been sold.
I wonder if the same crew/team still work for them?, (Marty and others)

No they are not.
My new Humvee's lasted less than two years, on rotation with three other baggies. The stitching just came apart all over them.
My 18 year old Humvee's, commuted on every day, leading group mountain bike rides every week or so, and riding at the weekend for 5 years before being thrown into the pile of other shorts are still useable.
Unfortunately, Endura are being Ashley'd by a thousand cuts. Fortunately the big fat cynical bastard isn't actually involved this time.

Out of curiosity, how often are they actually being worn? Two years doesn't sound much, but they may be worn several times a week, year round, or barely see use for some people on here. That may be anything from several hundred hours of wear to a few hours.
I like it. Doubt i'd wear it as I'm unimaginative but with the 90's fashion I can see what they're doing. Need to diversify away from old buggers who buy one set of trousers every ten years and moan when a stitch gets loose
I concur re old vs new Humvee shorts. After the apocalypse there'll be nothing left but cockroaches and original Hummvee shorts - the new ones will have perished long before.
I used the same pair of original Hummvee shorts for daily commuting for approaching a decade. Not the click-in liner though, that was crap. Eventually stitching on the arse seem started to come undone so I sewed them back together. Finally binned after sliding along the road on my side after being T-boned on a roundabout.
New ones are still good but nowhere near as robust-feeling. Saying that, mine are lasting well after two years or so of similar use.

I would say worn once every 10 days to a fortnight on average - so two years represents maybe 40 actual rides/wears?
Someone in marketing needs to think about the benefits of promoting these decorating overalls by offering a free belt. Surely the benefit of dungarees is that one does not need a belt - or am I old and unhip and missing something?
Saying that the Mustard trousers up there may be a stroke of genius because I wasn't going to visit their website today and now I have so they are driving engagement

I have a past marriage that suggests otherwise

Get the **** outta here 😂😂

Yeah, not much when you break it down. (And matches my experience.)
I currently have two pairs of Endura shorts bought very cheap earlier this year. (On top of all my older slightly more worn out shorts.) I suspect that one pair gets used a lot more than the other because I just pick up whichever is on top of the pile... 😀 Because they were very cheap I won't be too disappointed when they fall apart, which I'm guessing will be next spring at the rate I'm wearing them.
This goes some way to answer WTF is going on...

Ah, they're aiming for the ebike market 😉
I imagine this collection might be available at a healthy discount come sale time, if anyone fancies "getting the look".
I am just not street enough for Endura....
I had a look at the designers website. They use some words which have been mentioned in the disproportionately cross thread 😆
@oakwood. Totally missed the reference.
i also didn't get the spotty bag reference.
I think i might be showing my lack of age. Ie i am only a sad early middle aged git.

Sesame Street?

A belt simply wouldn't work on any unhip person.
As you pointed out, there are hooded alternatives available made by 3M. Ultralight fabric. 👌
