anyone used this combination. Ordered my soul this week and it comes with this on it. I’m going to see how it rides either way but just wondered what to expect.

Great combo. I've used the light versions in high grip front, fast rear on my HT, I'd buy again and go tough rear.

No good in mud, clog up pretty quick, but great for most other conds.

Have put the Vigilante on the rear for the winter with a Mary on front. Really works well.

How does the Trail Boss compare to the Bee Line? I have the Bee Line on rear with Vigilante on front. I have a feeling the bee line may need changed

Not sure about the Bee Line ..as mentioned already though I would go for the tough casing on both tyres ..adds a little weight but less hassle .

I have this combo on my Whyte and while it's fair to say that it's a bit twitchy in mud and very twitchy on sheet ice I have stuck with it through last winter and this one too without too many problems ..

2.3 inch WTB Vigilante front, 2.2 inch WTB Bee Line back. Great Combo for trail biking.

Only surface where I have problems on: wet grass

Run both with tubes and sealant in the tubes. Lots of mud biking.

The Vigilante is a really good tire.

The Bee Line is quite soft and the studs are worn down - will swap the tyre soon (Trail Boss or Nobby Nic or similar). But Vigilante for front I will keep.

Vig is a great tread pattern, light/grippy should be perfect on the front unless you're an animal.

TrailBoss is OK as a summer/hardpack rear. Pants in the mud. Fast rolling compound is OK unless you have wet limestone to deal with. Not used a light carcass on the back, but the Tough is very tough. To the point I noticed the difference in ride comfort from the really stiff carcass.

The Trail Boss is the only tyre I have ever tried which I removed before wearing it out.  It rolls pretty well and it's tough but I thought that the small side-knobs are rubbish under hard cornering in all conditions.

Boss front and rear in my Whyte.  Fast on the road and grippy on dry trails but a right handful when the latter gets wet/sloppy.

6 months of riding so far and they’re lasting well too.

Did like the Vigilante but it doesn't measure up to the Shorty imo. Then again it was about half the price. Trail Boss I quite like for a "fast knobbly" but it sucks up mud like nobody's business, mine is in a box in the garage and won't be coming out again til at least April. I don't think WTB have a good "minionish" rear tyre just now tbh

Much prefer the Vigilante to the Shorty it replaced I ride a variety of rock, root and everything in between and the Shorty done well in mud but failed everywhere else where I find the Vigilante copes better on all the terrains

Isn't convict the shorty/Mary alike?

Either way, I've got a convict 2.5 and vigilante 2.3 Front/Rear on my HT. Vigilante is better than the Hans dampf on the back of the FS. Not sure whether to switch FS for DHF/DHR or the WTB combo next.

Quite like the vigilante, the traiboss not so keen. The tough casing is heavier than a heavy thing. A supergravity Rockrazor is lighter and corners better.

I use Vigilante Trailboss for summer riding and find it a great combo for summer, however I change to Magic Mary Nobby Nic for the winter, if it stays wet they stay on right in to summer.

Had this combo and agree with the above. Good all rounders but mince in mud. Mine were very heavy but they can be had for peanuts. Only changed due to buying as new wheels with tyres otherwise would still have them.
