A mild couple of days here in that Yorkshire, and a sunny start to the day (weekend!). 3 hours locally on the Moxie SS for me. Trails 6.5 on the mudometer of doom (will be back to 8/9 after the weekend!)
My LBS managed to free off the seized/rounded out sliding dropout bolt following the first ride on this bike last Sunday, and replaced the bolts with something hopefully a bit beefier. I called in to Screwfix on my ride to pick up some decent Wera hex keys (which will hopefully help offset my ham-fistedness!)
The Moxie really is a brilliant HT ... As you'd expect with my username, I've had a few! It just feels 'right' ... damped, planted but also much more nimble in carving turns than anything I've had before! I think we're going to get along ...
Another solo session at Wharny and new tyre day. Good riddance to those bloody Butchers.
I need to stop riding here on my own before I break myself. Some of the trails are a bit spicy.
It's also got me looking at full face helmets.
Quite possibly the worst ride I've ever done. My route took me across a field with the absolute worst, most evil, sticky mud I have ever come across.
Halfway across I literally couldn't push the bike as half a wheel turn completely filled the gaps with thick mud and the wheels locked.
Too heavy to carry.
Ended up removing the front wheel, carrying that across the field alone, then going back and dragging the rest of the bike through the mud with a supreme effort.
Aborted the ride after that.
Still. Nice out. 😂
Combrook, Warwickshire
Looks a bit like Sillydale (real name) in Derbyshire.
I finally got out for a ride this morning for the first time in nearly two weeks. This one's a bit blurry but you can make out the gorse flowers.
Later on, I saw something fishy.

Lovely mix of crunchy frost and steamy sun this morning in Kippford and Dalbeattie forestsÂ
Another sunny Sunday on the downs, no new miles, but a very lovely morning. Visibility from the Dyke out to Isle of Wight, and in the pic Chanctonbury, Bignor, Glatting Beacon and maybe even Butser....
Getting a bit greasy, but doing pretty well w 18psi in my groundcontrol and Fasttrak.
Edit: my inability to edit photo content obvious, sorry
We went for an afternoon lap of the blue at Hicks Lodge in the national forest. Flat as a pancake and definitely no gnar but that's exactly what I wanted for his first "trail centre" ride. He got on great and loved the twisty berms towards the end of the trail! Now looking around for the next step up, not sure if FTD/Perry's Trail at Cannock would be too much at the minute.
Stunningly beautiful, crisp winter morning in Belfast today.

8 of us out. Went to see if we could clear a trail lost to logging. 2 hours later with only a single hand saw, we'd not only opened it but improved it. Need to go back with a rake. Then rode some more and now lying down is pretty much the only physical position available to me. Although an afternoon in the pub might not have helped đŸ˜‰
Was going to take the MTB out but it's tucked away in the basement so went out on the gravel bike again instead. Got absolutely filthy and fell off on some black ice on the way home. 10/10 ride 😆Â
I don't often get to ride on Sunday so I missed a nice day today. Just going to take it on the chin tomorrow.
Out for a quick ride with a mate today. Cold, wet and sticky. Loved it!
Forgot to take any photos, apart from one at the end.
3h spin round my local woods.Â
It's been a while since I was up at the jumps. It's two meter square edged gaps almost every where up a the dh bit.Â
The log on/off is still as intimidating as ever.
So I found a nice easy table, went far to deep and over jumped it. Thrilling but daft.
