I’ve just finished a couple of rides days riding at Glentress. Yesterday i road the the Blue then cycled into town to buy dinner. My bike felt terrible and i eventually found a pivot bolt had fallen out…
So today I hired an ebike:-). The top of the red was still very icy. My bike eventually ejected me not because i slipped on the ice but because soft snow grabbed my front wheel. No harm done
The new bermy stuff at the bottom was insane. I went back up and did the red berms again, then the blue.
All very exciting for a man that normally rides from the door in Bedfordshire
Delete if some one beat me to it
A bit of a dull and damp morning for a ride but I found my lost bite valve. It's been lying there since Tuesday.
First time pedalling a bike this year for me. And I only went to the shop for crisps and fizzy pop via some local beauty spots.
Really it was an excuse for a quick test ride on the new 10mm stem. First proper ride on Monday probably.
45km today out from NW Leeds over to Otley Chevin and back. No signs of ice. A lot of mud. But warm, dry, Spring - like, and a few drying lines starting to emerge. Lovely!
Lovely to get out this morning with no rain and blue skies.
Absolute filth fest everywhere though and it's pissing down again now
Darley Dale, Chatsworth, Bakewell loop.
Ooh and the new XT 4 pots are awesome
Nice! What drone is it? And where were you riding?
Its a DJI Neo 2 drone. £208 just for the drone. I don't intend to fly it with a controller so the follow me function is perfect.
After having a gopro for years, the drone is better for action footage. I've now sold the gopro to pay for the drone.
Was riding near Rivington. From Great Hill down to White Coppice then over to Healey Nab trails
Club ride for my today, genuinely enjoying riding with the group. Decided to do a few extra miles afterwards. My legs are feeling it now!
That was not the best day to ride ever, but I just love mountain biking - even in the slop!
Nice to see some blue sky and not having to wear full waterproofs but the wind was awful and turned it into a gruelling slog at times. Devil's elbow is in the worst state it's been for years.
Why on earth are my photos not showing?

Well those photos look ace. I've toyed with the idea of one for riding with MiniMonkey, but we mostly ride in the woods so an action cam on the helmet works pretty well for now.
Got the third ride in on my new bike today, 113km covered across three rides so safe to say it's bedded in now. Today's was 47km from the front door, out through the local woods and over to Guisborough forest. Also first time trying the new bike on actual trails as a few of the old familiars were dry enough incl les's, the chute and hips and whips, though still I'm finding I'm not a fan of the maxxis Assegai up front, few hairy moments on some sloppy bits and roots today, those moments where you laugh cause you can't believe you've not fallen off. Gonna get my use out of the maxxis then swap for trusty schwalbes.
After the last ride my arse was killing me for 3 days after so what started as a saddle recommendation chat with chatgpt (currently using a specailized power comp, got my cheeks measured in store and thats what was recommended for me) turned into me finding out I've got a super tight hip flexor on my right hip which has lead to poor bike form and overpronation on my left leg when I'm running which has contributed to patellar issues. Absolutely bonkers. Anyway it told me to slide the saddle forward 8mm and tilt down 2 degrees. Tried it today and no sore arse, so now I'm an even bigger fan of openAI. Also been doing stretches and other physio stuff it has recommended and found after Thursdays run no niggling patellar tendon. Mad.
All in all absolute hoot, 1031m ascent and still got back with 26% battery left and a full loam shelf

You can get in the sea with your loam. I want loam, but have nothing but mud. Sod off 😉
Glentress today, a bit of snow and ice left at the top, but going quick. Nice to ride and have warm hands and feet for the first time in months.

Oh believe me I got into my local woods took one lap and thought F this. I should have took a photo of that pivotal moment to upload here to make you feel better 😂 imagine a 15 meter length of track churned up by horses, 9" deep hoof marks, pure sludgy clay like mud, no way around it, every visible inch battered, either muscle through or turn back situation. I turned back and put the road miles in to find some hero dirt and got lucky before the rain came in
Had a local ride yesterday. Didn't take any pics. It was okay considering all the rain, and if I have my mud head on, it's a fun slither on the hardtail. Would much like it to dry up today.
Still doesn't feel too springy tho. But the dogs are trying to make up for it this morning!
Rivington and Healey Nab are both on my to-do list. I've never been to either. I'll have to make a weekend of it.
Funnily enough was up at Glentress last weekend, reasonable amount of snow but still grippy.
Today back on home turf, well more like mud, on the Peak District Eastern Moors loop. Lovely and sunny and very busy, still lots of mud.
Was keen to ride my Mondraker Raze this morning after riding the ebike yesterday but woke up to more rain so went out on the SS instead. Was the right choice!
Decent roadie yesterday morning, it didn't rain, it was mild and the sun came out toward the end, so can't complain.
Today was a proper mudder around Win Hill. The descents were proper sketch but the climbings brutal at the minute due to the mud. But like yesterday, it was mild and sunny.
I think this was my first outdoor ride of the year. We were only out for about an hour, after the second fully submersed foot in mud/puddle bog he'd had enough! Wish I would have picked somewhere a bit further away with more of an all-weather surface.
Just under 16 miles and just over 2000ft around Dalby, mix of off piste and a few trail centre bits. Lovely sunny and mild day, most of the trails are holding up pretty well (just managed to find a few bits of proper yucky peanut butter mud, and one very boggy traverse).
First proper ride on the Aether 9 with fully working brakes and I'm liking it. A lot.
trails being quite filthy, did a 20k family ride round the local cycle ways yesterday
and today i had to pick up my eldest from a scout hike so left early to do a route id found online round wendover & missenden, turns out that since the start of the year HS2 works cut across my planned route and i had to make a huge detour, luckily id packed a light but without a helmet light it was hard for the last hour of darkness! It was glorious (if muddy) before the sun set
