Wow, bit different to the small independent bike shop down the road.

I was just going to say that having Sean Kelly and David Duffield on packing probably explains the box size missmatch.
Aren't regional development grants great!

Good to see someone in the cycle industry providing so many jobs.

Article says that they claim the box size is more environmentally friendly. Seems a bit counter-intuitive to say the least - I'd have preferred it if they expanded on that a bit.

Boxes are recycled and recylable cardboard rather than horrible plastic jiffy bags that can't be recycled, are 'clever' in that one can be made into several sizes. I'm not sure about extra fuel costs to transport the greater volume of them for those that are are holding smaller items than fill the box, but I can't see it being significant.

Pretty straightforward tbh... They're recycled and recyclable. Jiffy bags and other plastic packaging aren't. And using standardised sizes means less stock means less waste.

It does seem counterintuitive, I presume there's a lot more to the environmental impact of the postage process than just the volume of cardboard consumed. Eg, bubblewrap plastic, energy used by packing machines etc.

It's also ace if you're ebaying stuff, you can just order items individually and get a stack of cardboard boxes to recycle!

Well however big they may be, they need more staff!
My order placed Monday am, all items in stock, has still not been dispatched.

PS. Always been a big fan of CRC, and hopefully will be in the future. Just send out my order!

I think CRC is brilliant, cannot fault them with quick delivery and free posatge aswell and will carry on using them but they are killing all the LBS in UK as they cannot compare their prices.

What about Wiggle, Stif, On One, Merlin etc who are also selling cheaper than the LBS? Its not just CRC!
