Hi all, just wanted some opinions on this please...

Would you call this bike build burly... ?

Fork - RS Revelation Team Air U-turn run at 135mm
Wheels - Crossmax ST (2nd lightest in the Mavic range)
Drive Train - XTR
Brakes - Formula R1 (160mm rotors F&R)
Pedals - XTR 959
Seatpost - Thomson
Bars - Easton Carbon Monkeylite XC (25.4mm)
Stem - Thomson (25.4mm)
Tyres - Rocket Ron in a 2.1 or 2.25
Saddle - Fizik Gobi

Personally I don't think it's burly but correct me if you think I am wrong.

No, thats pretty lightweight. Burly is Saint/2.4" tyres/160mm forks etc.

Is that what they're trying to blame on the Cove snapping? You were being too rad on that 'designed on the North Shore' frame?

Swap the forks and I'd say that's an xc race build!

Nope, that's a pretty bling, pretty lightweight build imo - certainly lighter than either of my 'XC' bikes.

If it's related to the hummer i guess it depends on what length fork it was designed for...

Just to add a bit of variety, yes it is burly. No I don't really think that. What was the point of this thread again?

Jay - my hummer was an earlier one and pretty similar build. 120mm forks (but only warrantied to 130 I think on Sandavik frames?). Otherwise I'd say yours might even have been lighter than mine. And nowadays there is bog all of you!

on what frame? if it's on a burly frame it's light, if it's on a 900g xc race frame then it's at the burly end

I'd say it's a nice light trail build and if you always run the fork at 135mm then you bought the wrong fork
