Whats the most interesting yet direct route/BW between Windermere to Kentmere when doing Garburn Pass anticlockwise ?
The whole route is better the other way TBH. From Windermere, join the foot of Garburn [url=
head up past Dubbs and over to Kentmere.
Once in Kentmere, you need to double back on [url=
track up past Hall Farm then descend to a small stream. Don't cross the stream, instead turn left and follow the fantastic descent down past Sawmill Cottage then thread your way back to Windermere via Browfoot, Grassgarth, cross the main road at Ings and then there's a few BW and FP routes back to Bowness.
Garburn east to west (going up from Kentmere) is just a push/carry and is wrong. ๐
though the troutbeck side is a much harder ascent/better descent now since all the rain not so long ago. Did it kentmere-->troutbeck for the first time in a few years recently and it's definitely a tasty descent these days.
Always preferred Kentmere to Troutbeck myself.
Coming for a visit Scruff?
Yes Rich just me and the lady so there will be QT and stuff so cant really make plans.
Although it isn't direct you should try and include the Jenkin Crag descent from Troutbeck into Ambleside, it's great IMO.
