Time to get the gravel bike out but need to change tyres and reseal, being using Stans for a couple of years but should I be looking at some other brands or is it all about the same?

Thanks.

Vittoria.
Lasts for a long time, l had some in for over a year and it was still as good as when it went in. Sealed everything and water soluble. Give the bottle a good shake to mix platelets before use and do it at room temperature.

I switched from Stans to Muc-Off to Peaty's on both gravel and MTB.

Peaty's seems as effective as Stans but without the horrid smell.

Muc-Off didn't seal a small cut that the others likely would have, so I won't be using that again.

Orange Seal is pretty good if you can get hold of it (which is where the problem lies). Stans is fine though.

Weldtite seems good as well. I had the tyre off today for a broken spoke and it was still fluid about 4-5 months after being put in.

I was using some OKO green stuff that was only a tenner on eBay but while it sealed up OK when fitting it failed to seal a pinhole I picked up.

Cafelatex is good to. But I've found Peaty's to be the best so far. Bit thicker than Stans.

For mountain bikes and big gravel bike tyres - stans

For higher pressure road tyres - silca

I have tried some of the rest and haven't been impressed

Ditto, started using it last year and it´s been pretty good thus far...

I always used to use Stans on my MTB but switched to Silca v2 for road and gravel tubeless as looked like it might have a better chance of sealing at higher pressures (and I'm a sucker for Josh and his YT marketing hype videos :p ). Seems OK so far, has sealed a few things (although I've had to plug torn shoulder knobs on Hutchinson Caracal Race and a slit caused by a glass shard on a Pirelli PZero Race TLR). Not sure if it's actually anymore effective than Stans though

Highly recommend OKO Hi Fibre- made in the UK and very good (OKO make loads of sealants but this is really the only one that's good for bikes, it's the exact same product as Halo sealant and Uberbike, they also make Nutrak but that's a less good version). It's at least as good as Stans at fixing holes, but it lasts longer and is much cheaper.

The bonus is it's water based and water soluble, so you can dilute it with water if you want it thinner (it is quite thick) or to stop it drying up. Literally just add a little water to the tyre from time to time and it'll stir in as you ride. Brilliant if you keep bikes in the house like I do. This can't fix dried out sealant unfortunately, it's a bit like emulsion paint, you can water it down forever and keep it fresh but you can't re-activate it once it dries.

Downer is it's not compatible with Stans and similiar, you're not suppose to mix it. No problem with using it in a tyre that's had Stans, but if you're on holiday or something and run out of sealant you can get Stans anywhere, you can't always get Oko or Halo, and that'll create a little faff. But that's pretty minor.

There is a "pro" version now which apparently is better for big flats, haven't used it. I suspect they realised they'd shot themselves in the foot by making a good product that's so cheap, people always tend to overlook cheaper stuff.

Is it better than the tractor/atv stuff a few of us used, because that was a bit pants even in a fat bike?

NOT Peaty’s in my painful experience.  Sticky horrible, stinky stuff that also makes fitting tight tyres a pain.

Stans race for road bikes and Stans normal for MTB.  Mix of te two for gravel bikes.  Race needs swapped every 4months.  The mix every 6-8m and original needs looked at every 12m but may be fine.

I've tried Stans, Peatys, Muc off and juice lubes.

Muc off is too thin, stans needs topping up loads and gives you tyre bogies so requires more babying also ammonia not good for alloy or the environment, juice lubes I found dried quick, peatys for me ticks all the boxes and have had it seal some pretty big punctures so has been my personal preference, was the first sealant I tried and have always gone back to it since

Another vote for Peatys, having swopped from Stans a year or so back. Gravel and road bikes, don’t have a MTB anymore.

I've used Orange Seal for years without any problems, but did I pick up some free samples of Sonnys Super Sealant from the Bollington Enduro last year, but not used it yet.  Anybody else given it a go??

Yeah, totally different stuff designed specifically for bikes. The Halo stuff (literally the same product with a different label) has won some magazine tests

Having used Orange Seal (spendy but nice), Muc Off (smells nice, cheap) I have now settled on WTB it's in the tyres & I haven't noticed it. So win.
