SB8s, good as they are in 2.1", in 32mm not so sure they'll not wash out around the malvern gravels on hardpack.
Anyone got any opinions on something tough (can take a hit) and hang on with some predictability on gravels?

I dunno, the 32mm SB8s I have on mine seem to hold onto pretty much everything apart from clayish mud.
Been impressed with my Smart Sams on gravel and hardpack.
It's less about the tyres and soooooooooo much more about the skills. Sorry, skillz.
Look up Panaracer Mach SS tyres. I used a one on the rear for the three peaks, and they are great..
I was worried those smart sams would be a bit half arsed. Seem to be pretty cheap so maybe Ill give them a crack. Have picked up a pair of SB8s for next to nothing on ebay anyway so will give them a spin.

small block 8s are great.
I've always run Bonty Jones CX's on my 'cross bikes after a recommendation from Will at John's Bikes in Bath.
Great all round cx tyres, can't comment specifically on their gravel abilities though.
