[#3708352]

Hello you lot. I'm hoping to mine your collective well of knowledge for a variety of easy/moderate rides to widen the scope of my MBLA log book.

TJ, Northwind, Druidh, BikeChain etc (other posters are available :-)) any particulars that spring to mind? I'm off to college on the 1st of April so I'd bloody love to bag some more group Pentlands rides by then as well.

Yours hopefully,
Chris F(Puke Hill Puker)

Lots. How "mountainbike" do they need to be?

I have loops to east and west lothian on easy tracks with the odd bit of real mountainbiking, loads of pentlands routes. Some stuff in the lammermuirs

Email me ( in profile) if you want some details

If you can get yourself out to Midlothian I'll show you some singletrack action, you'll even get to test your map reading skills. I can also give you TCL advice.

I'll sort the logistics Steven, the offer is completely appreciated & welcome.

I live in South West Edinburgh, so that may not be too difficult.

What/where/when would you have in mind?

I'm away this weekend but could probably manage something the following one. We are about three miles from the bypass just off the A7. Can do anything between 20 and 80km, although it's been a while since I've done anything that long. So probably 2-3 hours. Or can do a night ride.

The day job's making me work the following weekend and the night ride's a plan when I borrow lights-for-beer-from-people.

I too am emerging from my Winter slump but am battering my bridleway commute to compensate. I'm definitely up for sorting something though.

Being the geek I am, where do you ride? I'll get the Ordinance Surveys out the box...

I live in Newtongrange. A lot of the trails aren't on maps.

I love that, "a lot of the trails aren't on maps". Excellent.

When I get lights, the nights are a go-go.

Until then, I have nothing on for all the weekends in March other than work on 3rd/4th.

To be quite honest, I don't have any commitments other than reminding Mrs.Chris that there's room for more than one ride in my life...

Whatever works best for you, i'll get myself up the A7.

I can give you a shot of a light although they aren't the easiest of trails to ride the first time at night. I think I'm free the 10th and 11th.

Just a quick thanks to everyone who's helped me so far.

Blown away by the support. Much more than I'm receiving from "the day job".

Cheers for now.
