Having just come back from there, the trails around Finale Ligure are incredible. Plus the town and region itself is fantastic & unspoilt by hordes of tourists, so cheap good food, nice people etc. 🙂

I didn't get any of the names, but I think the best I've ever ridden was possibly called Pointelles, then into La Joux, at La Thuile. Everything I want from a trail, really. Even had a tiny patch of mud.

But to be fair it's possible I've got the wrong trail entirely. But I'm sure I've got the right country at least

Either that or Spooky Woods 😉

Holy Trail, Chamonix, for me.

#1 Monarch Crest - Colorado, near Salida, 11000-12000 start going down to 6000 over a days ride, awesome.

#2 Porcupine Rim, Moab. The view is staggering.

#3 Hermosa trail, Durango

At Whistler I loved Crank it Up and then into Heart of Darkness. I rode A/B Line and didn't like them as much.

Another vote for the Porcupine Rim in Moab. It's an awesome trail in a fantastic location. The trail is itself seems to go on for ever with endless drop offs and fast double track to start with followed by some cracking single track later on.

The King Trail, Zermatt, Switzerland. 13km of brilliant singletrack, all downhill. 🙂

There is no one, even ten, "best trail"(s). It's such a subjective thing.

However, "Donkey Darko" (Trans-Provence Day 2) has to be up there in terms of how it is considered by anyone who have just ridden it 🙂

Whistler. All of them. My favourites were Black Velvet, Dirt Merchant and Crank It Up. The valley trails are all better than anything we have over here as well.

Really liked this one, from Trigance dropping down into the Verdon Gorge.

Trying to put together a list of the top mountain bike trails in the world.

Scotland.

Best I've ever ridden? The bit just before going into the woods going down from Col De Balme to Trient, after the cliffside bit. Alpine Bliss. Then it goes steep and techy for about an hour 😀

+1 for finale or Molini

Also the Colorado trail going South into Durango from the Molas Pass summit (about 11,000 elev.)
Poison Spider at Moab is another.

As someone posted, it really is pretty subjective depending on what you like.

None of them are in Scotland. Mountain biking is Scotland is RUBBISH - FACT.

In a 'Woods behind the Nationwide, Swindon, UK' kind of way I give you, the final section of the Dog on Cannock chase. The bit after the Tackaroo is a bit shagged at the moment but after half a k and a bit of a connecting uphill bit after the berms you dive back into the woods into a singletrack heaven. Slag it off all you like ( a national pass time when it comes to chase trails) but on the right day (dry) its a ripper.
There i've said it.

+1 for Whistler. A River Runs Through It is awesome.

Trail 401 Crested Butte Colorada

I did really enjoy Porcupine Rim and Slick Rock. For the scenery and improbably nature of what you are doing

But Fot actual riding I think lots of bits of trail centre as really great. The scenery and locations are less good but the riding is great. i wouldn't dare name one on Single Track though......

Oh and bit of Glenn Feshie on my only ever bike packing trip....

Aw come on - we dinnae want these interlopers coming up here and enjoying our wee bit of heaven and our non-restrictive access right. Scotland is gash.

Another for Col de Balme to Trier. i can honestly divide my MTB riding into before and after those switchbacks on the cliff face...MTB equivalent of crack cocaine.

My vote: Camino del Ingeniero, Segovia. Over an hour of flowing singletrack in a pine forest, lovely.

Downieville in California has the best trails I have ridden. Fruita has some nice stuff too.
