Bearings would be the issue with a completely wooden bike.

Coffeeking - read the link in the OP - totally wooden. You can actually make decent bearings out of wood. Reasonably common in old steam engines IIRC
The axles are made of the hardwood ekki; the cogs, wheels and frame are birch ply; and oily ironwood was used in place of metal bearings where moving parts met.

Was reading this earlier, it seems like a mad thing and as the other links seem to be missing
Not a single bolt or screw has been used, nothing metal, plastic or rubber.
Big problem for me I guess would be the lack of grip from a straight wooden wheel...
What tread pattern for birch ply tyres?
