Looking to obtain for better half as light a hardtail as possible under the cycle to work scheme (max £1000). Seems most women-oriented bikes have heavier coil forks. The only ones with air forks I can find are:

Kona Kula Lisa, 12.45 kgs, £849
Ghost Miss 5000, 12.8 kgs, £849
Cube Access Team, 12.8 kgs, £829
Orane Diva, ? kgs, £875

They all share the Recon Silver Air in one guise or another but vary in spec. Kona and Orange have a mix of Alivio, Deore and Deore XT, the Ghost has Deore and Deore XT, and the Cube has Deore XT and SLX.

So, Cube is best spec and cheapest therefore best value (on paper) and Mrs Cosmic reckons it looks the best too. All we have to do is try them out but am I missing any? Would anyone recommend a coil fork?

Many thanks in advance.

We do have issues with (small to medium weight)women and coil forks. Unless the manufacturer has done their homework they are usually set up for a heavier rider. So - I think your criteria are spot on.

As regards C2W - make sure you've done your homework on the total costs - including the end-of-term payment options.

Cheers druidh. I have wondered about the final payment. I guess cyclescheme will give an indication when they issue the voucher? But that's another thread!

There are a couple of other bikes but they're over £1000....

Talk over the C2W options before you go for the voucher as you may find it's not worthwhile. If it would help, call us at The Bike Chain on 0131 557 2801 and ask for Mark or Colin (that's me, but I'm not in until Monday). We see lots of C2W action and are only too aware of the changes!
