Which is better in terms of quietness and potential training results?
Possibly looking at for the dark winter nights.

That goes without saying but week nights when it's dark and not much fun with only 30 mins to an hour to spare the indoor variety is easier. I also want to increase my riding/training and only have 2 nights midweek to do it.

rollers will be queietest. fluid TT's next, mag 3rd and then air.

there's a fair few videos of comparison tests on the web - do a google.

Sort of depends what you're trying to achieve.

If you already have good base fitness, then I'd say a turbo and follow proper intervals sessions.

For limited time, turbo always.

yeah, rollers keep you interested. you can spin away on the turbo without your eyes open but if you forget what you're doing on rollers you'll be on your arse.
