Thinking ahead to winter 2021/22, what good MTB destinations are realistically driveable?
Happy to spend a couple of non-MTB days driving each way and planning on 9-11 days, Friday-Monday, depending on Ferry/Tunnel prices. Somewhere eBike friendly would be good too. I am aware it may well be cheaper to fly and hire, which is why I'm asking now so I can do some cost analysis.
Dog friendly may be good too.
I would be very wary of travelling anywhere at this point, I can see a second round of lockdowns.
More helpfully, the mountains will be snowed across most of the places you can drive to. ie alps, pyrenees. Next issue is the dog, travel after 1/1 and pet passports cease in their current, or potentially any form. In a normal year I would suggest Canaries.
edit just saw 21/22,hopefully covid will be sorted, rest applies
Southern Spain would be the obvious choice if you want to drive. Depends exactly when in winter you plan to travel. Canary Islands are the most weather sure in Europe. Finale Ligure would also be an option if you are talking about early or late winter but it’s still a bit of a lottery.
