theres this axle on the Novatec site, will it fitย my Superstar Tesla Evo hub? http://www.eshop.novatecwheels.eu/category/spare-parts/axles-and-side-caps/axle-10mm-for-d542sb-alloy/
Currently running it as 135 q/r but I'd like a bolt through
The general consensus seems to be that the Tesla Evos are not Novatec hubs.
Looking at other hubs that have the ratchet on the freehub and the pawls in the body, we have DMR 6 pawl, Reynolds, Nukeproof, Halo SpinDoctor...
I mean, there is this
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/dt-swiss-rws-thru-bolt-alloy/rp-prod81162, I could use that, no?
With the right end caps, on either the Superstar Tesla Evo, or Hope Pro 2 Evo,?
So can I use this Novatec axle in its place, or is it something different?
You just need the DT axle (or any 10x135 axle) and the correct end caps for the Tesla Evo, unfortunately they are out of stock: https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/electro-and-tesla-evo-rear-adaptor.htm
That Novatec axle won't fit your hub and it would still need the DT 10mm thru bolt as well. This is how a complete Novatec conversion kit looks like, with its accompanying bolt-through:

thanks for explaining that
I may have the end caps already.
just need the right axle
I've just searched a bit for some and indeed, they are rare as hen's teeth these days. The DT RWS seems to be the only available choice; other than the price, they are faultless (I have two of them).
Another option would be to use a solid 10mm axle (a threaded rod, essentially) and a couple of nuts.
like a shimanoย hollow rear axle?
The regular QR Shimano axles would be too short, as they only extend to the outer edges of the dropouts. You would need an old school axle that was designed to be bolted using nuts.
