I need to replace the bottom bracket on my Langster. It should be a 103mm axle but I'm pondering how much of a difference it will make to buy a much cheaper 107mm axle BB... Will it complete goose the chainline?

Yours being a tight arse

T

Can you space out the rear sprocket?

If you can then no issue, if you can't a longer BB may cause slightly premature wear and be a tad noisier.

No spacing of sprocket as its a proper singlespeed wheel with screw on freewheel/cog and not a cassette adaptor singlespeed.

2mm out isnt much to worry about. I doubt 107mm is actually bang on anyway.

Following a tasty pub lunch and a pint in the sunshine I've put my hand in my pocket and stumped up the full £13.20 to buy the correct length bottom bracket!
