Trying to strip down a WI freewheel. I've got the red lock ring off, and the freewheel is off the wheel.
Instructions now say to press on the inner driver and it will disengage. But it doesn't.
Suggestions?
Hammer?
Pile driver?
Freehub 🙁
Big hammer + wood.

mine was pretty snug when i stripped it down too. think i rested the teeth across the jaws of my vice and ****ted it, IIRC. no big deal.
have you taken the big O ring out ?
Inner WILL push out by hand.
never had a problem, done quite a few an all.
Put it back on the wheel and just pull the outer off the inner.
Sigh. New bearing needed. Tunstall forest mud is clearly quite exceptional stuff.
Let's hope that unsealing the bearing won't have the same effect as at the end of Indiana Jones.
Wrong film. Monster from the Black Lagoon.
i got a replacement from sideways.
Well, for the record, I bought a new sealed bearing from ebay for £5 (*), prised off the seals and put some proper grease into it and then followed the instructions to reassemble. After a bit of fooling around it's all back on the bike and much smoother than before. But not had any mud yet.
So they really do work.
(*) The original bearing was an Enduro one, and if that can fail then clearly buying expensive bearings isn't going to help.
