Mrs hoppy is complaining about the web Bronson on the back of her t129, she's after something with a bit more grip. Anyone managed to put either a nobby nic or a smorgasbord in 2.25 flavour in with anything approaching sensible clearance or got any thoughts on something else that might work?

Based on the guy I ride with, something skinny... Think he's been on a Mud X.

2.25 nobby nic fits in an older one too. It's such a shame - I loved that bike but I was so sick of the rear tyre clearance - main reason for selling, which sounds mad! I tried many different tyres and always found the NN to be the best solution. Saying that, I think I did manage to fit in a Smorgasbord at one point but for some reason I didn't keep it so maybe it was tight?!?

2.25 Maxxis fits ok on the older model, clearance isn't amazing but as long as you're not riding in very muddy trails it's ok. New 2017 model has MUCH improved clearance.

The short chainstays make the tradeoff worthwhile I reckon.

Rather enjoying a Mud X 2.00 on the back of mine. Light and grippy and slices through mud.

Beaver 2.2, mountain king 2.2 all fit and are good in wetter conditions. Ardent 2.25 for the summer.

I run a nobby nic 2.1 on the back of my T129. Had to dish the wheel over a little to stop it rubbing but has been fine since.

I'm guessing its quite tight with the Ardent in, what model year did you have it fitted in?
Anyone confirm that a 2.25 Ardent will fit a 2015 works scr?

Cheers

Ardent was fine in my 2014 "s". It's not a mud tyre so no need to have loads of mud clearance but i used it year round for trail centres.

I'm running a 2.25 Maxxis Minion DHR on a Hope enduro rim on the back of my 2014 works frame. Not masses of clearance, but no problems either.

Nobby Nic Evo 2.25 on a 2015 model, mud and stones are beginning to rub paint away
