[quote=legend ]Does seem strange that being based around Walkerburn something like Pony wasn't in
Not gonna lie, **** delighted to see Pony isn't being used!

The push alone would be horrific!

I'm going to make a gues here that S5's been run the way it does to minimise closures, it doesn't make much sense otherwise but running it this way, they don't need to shut that whole chunk of the red.

Gah! About Jawburn, I was planning to ride that tomorrow! Waterworld it is...

those stages will have no impact on the Red at all, maybe that's part of the 'deal'

Yup. I like a big stage but tbh the classic starting on the red has always felt a bit weird, that used to be the middle "take a breather before the good bit" section.

Settled in at the pods at Glentress and looking forward to it , just went for a quick spin up to the buzzards nest and back down the red . Warm and wet is how its best described at the moment . Family joining me tomorrow so hope the weather picks up a bit , forecast for sunday seems ok .
Cant be as wet as vallelujah ....can it ?

Just chatting with a pal and we reckon driving past the car park etc a second time to climb BACK up In Inners will sort out the boys/men ๐Ÿ™‚

Full Enduro bingo on the go. Who was it in fluoro-enduro gear, bouncing a fluoro-machine round the school car park before pronouncing "It feels so lively!!".

Yeah that felt like a big day out in its own right .managed 1 and 2 before the rain came while I was on the Golfie climb . Almost called it a day back at the car but decided to push on and do 5 , had a bit of a moment on 5 where I couldn't understand what the hell I was doing and was almost ready to sell the bike and give up entirely . Now I have had a cup of tea and a Chinese I feel a lot more positive , although ask me again on my way up to 5 tomorrow and I might be for chucking it again .
Felt pretty quiet today , I wonder if some never bothered

Well at least its a half decent forcast for tomorrow. Managed to cook the fajitas outside and can see some blue sky on the horizon.

Having sampled a few of the stages today, if it does stay dry, tomorrow is going to be a sticky slidey mudfest ๐Ÿ˜€

I got lost on the top between 3 and 4 !!

Found all the steep stuff hard work today, lack of riding this year is really hurting my confidence.
Fish and chips dispatched

I'm off to bed, really hoping the babies sleep thru tonight !

Not racing but it was a bit wet today eh ๐Ÿ˜† My group got waterlogged and called it a day earlier but I've not often seen so much water on inners trails. Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Not bothered* riding today as it's going to be completely different tomorrow and there's no point scaring myself rigid in the rain. OK?

*As in, I ran away from the torrential rain. I'm not proud but I have no need of pneumonia in my life right now.

No surprise, that was muddy. Walk or Burn and lower Classic particularly bad, but overall good fun. MBM was good, as was RO. Props the guy who came hammering down the last stretch of RO drawing woohs from the crowd, only to discover he had no rear tyre...

Yeah was a lot of mud surprisingly grippy and by stage 2 I was enjoying it 100x more than yesterday, tho didn't stop me crashing on nearly every stage, OTB on jawbone left me struggling to get my brake lever out of my shoe.
Was nice to finish in sunshine, even if I was absolutely shagged

Well that was better than yesterday , really enjoyed 1 2 and 3 and top of 4 , crashed on the steep part of walk or burn and couldn't get going again . 5 was hard as I was pretty knackered and just holding on really . Felt pretty pleased just to finish that one , great event and will definitely be back next year

Just got back home. Another great event organised by the Tweedlove team. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Just need to hose everything down now.

Really enjoyed that, but found Stage 4 tough! The rest were all great, but by the time I got to the bottom half of stage 5 the mud was so churned up and sticky I was really struggling.

Kudos to the maniac that did it on a downhill bike with boxxers 8)

Slightly less kudos to the guy I heard screaming on stage 2 "Rider coming in hot" as he caught someone. ๐Ÿ˜†

Maybe they'd left their waterproof on? It was a lot warmer on Sunday
