I'm looking for a chain set and found some cheap saints, which would be ideal, but on closer inspection they appear to have had the spider cut off. What's all that about? Is this a downhill chainless thing? Surely you wouldn't go to the trouble of sawing up a chain set or does this model actually have some kind of bolt on spider?

Looks like inner bolt holes are still there. Used for a trials bike?

Yep these have been on a trials bike. I used to have a similar set up.
