Took my daughter to her visit Uni Open Day. She didn't like the Uni, the courses she was interested in or the accommodation. Strike 3 from 3. Only 9 more to go. Since I've worked or am working for most of them it's interesting seeing it from the other side. Although six hours in the car with the sun shining was a bit depressing.

Still nipped out Friday and rode Cwmcarn today so I reckon I'm about equal for the weekend - just missing that big dusty ride...

I’ve been away on my brother in laws stag do, have come back to a poorly wife so have spent the afternoon playing with my daughter in the garden. Will pop out for a cheeky lunchtime ride on the road bike tomorrow to make up for it.

32 degrees and wall to wall blue skies.

So I'm trying to catch up on all the jobs I couldn't finish earlier in the year. Still had snow on the ground end of April.........

On the plus side, kids and other half are away tomorrow night and it's a bank holiday on Wednesday (and forecast is for low 20s).

imnotverygood - that was very bad luck and presumably you didn't ride?  My son did the long route, he phoned me and said the climbs were brutal with some being 20%.  Weather was good and plenty of snow at the summits.

Eldest stepdaughter gave birth to our second granddaughter a week ago today,  3 and a half weeks premature, emergency C--section, strep B and sepsis.

They both came home today after the scariest, most stressful week of all our lives.

Grace Jean is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Held her for the first time today and didn't want to let her go.

Been looking after her four (nearly five granddad!) year old sister, took her swimming today and played in the park. She's been an absolute star.

Sorry for being an arse with people, I had to take it out on someone.

Scotroutes and Jimjam, my abject apologies. I'll message you and apologise personally.

Thank you Dave.

Do you actually get any time to enjoy or see much of these places Flashy?

Must be a bit frustrating if just airport/work/hotel?

Sometimes, Rusty. Had a nice day off in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and a day meandering around Hong Kong before my flight down there, for example.  However, on some trips, it's airport, taxi, hotel, meetings, taxi, hotel, taxi, airport, repeat.  Like this one. 🙁

Lovely to read your news above, by the way!

Spent all weekend jet washing the patio and paths, then replacing all the knackered grout with new stuff. Built the wife and boy their new Calibre Saw's and was supposed to go for a family ride to test them. By the time we were all ready, someone had to stay in for the Ocado delivery... 🤬

Already booked a day at the Hay Festival.  I will admit to a few wistful glances up at the Black Mountains though.

Broke my big toe 2 weeks ago interfacing it brutally with a tree stump on a trail in Staunton.  Have now had to sit patiently twice at the PABA café in the FoD while my son went off for a ride.

At least the weather was nice!

Shock died on the Jenn Ride so has been off for repair.

Got it back Friday and was looking forward to a spin this weekend. Shock now holds no air so back it goes.

Is sad.

Had Friday off, made the floor for my shepherds hut AM, helped my Dad get stuff organised for a show and moved his vintage tractor PM.

Spent Saturday morning helping Dad again, then got my bike all prepped for Sunday morning and went to help a friend shear his sheep. Hand got smacked into a gate, swollen up, probably broken something, off to A&E today......

Tried to top up tubeless sealant, couldn't get it to hold air again after, put bike back in shed and played video games all weekend.

Spent the weekend in the Peak District and the Colne Valley but was sans bike, very disappointed (mind you it's quite steep around the Colne Valley!)

Lots of cyclists and motorbikes around, good few days for it. Managed to get a few walks in though and the kids 'conquered' Win Hill no problem (although it was windless, hot and humid!)

Moving house - missed out on a 60 mile charity ride too, which was very annoying!

Because I woke up at 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning with a terrible pain in one of my bollocks.  Checked the internet and gave it a couple of days but by Saturday, it was the size of an egg and the painkillers weren't working.  Went off to see the G-Docs and got given some antibiotics which so far, have done nothing at all.  Trying to get an appt with my usual GP but they don't make it easy 🙁

Just finishing a bad cough I have had for 4 weeks 🙁 Been riding my electric unicycle instead as it requires no effort.
