[#10021167]

Me, I have the worse saddle sore since I tried one of those flat topped lightweight saddles about 10 years ago.

Unbearable on the bike, same saddle and shorts for the past 6 months or so, but I tried to ride through it and it just got more painful. Extremely frustrating. Especially as I was on the way to getting my fitness up.

What’s your whinge?

Head cold lurgy yesterday and wife is out today. Did sort out the hop in my wheel this morning though so not total waste.

I did something to my back on Friday at the Forest of Dean and it hurts like hell to lay still, move, sit, stand or basically anything.

Because

a) I have a separated shoulder after an off three weeks ago.

and

b) I'm at work. The last day of a 9 day, 116 hour stint. I'm knackered.

Torpedoed a tree with my head a fortnight back and broke my neck. Be another month. Not allowing myself to be too gutted about not riding as I was very lucky. Still a bit gutted though.. .

Went out early to beat the walkers and joggers on Cutgate and get parked at Langsett Barn. Good job we did. When we got back at ten they were jostling for parking spaces. Second local ride when we got home to give the dog a run.

Now sat in the garden with a cheese, bacon and mushroom toastie and a gin and tonic

I did my back in making a cheese sandwich last Wednesday. After 3 days off work and enough ibuprofen to knock out a panzer battalion I’m starting to get movement but ain’t risking it this weekend. Cricket on the telly and a couple of good books is as adventurous as I’m going. Got a new bike turning up next week so want to be health for that.

Think I've lost my mojo. Hope it's only temporary but it's been going on a while.

At this exsct moment it's because I've just finished 25 miles on the Ridgway on my rigid 29 so I deserve the Carlsberg I'm drinking in the Hart of Harwell.

Another 10miles on the way home and a nice social pootle planned for this evening.

@OP- funny you should write this thread as I was just thinking or rather getting pissed off at fact I'm not riding when just browsing stw due to a chest infection which I hope is the last one ever.

Tonsillitus for the 2nd time this year, missed my midweek ride too. Maybe next weekend I'll get out, at least the DH is on this afternoon.

I had good intentions of getting up about as early as a work day and heading off for a "long" ride this morning, perhaps venturing to Blackdown in West Sussex, leaving before 0700...

Except I went for a ride at ~1900 up "Ashton/Salt Power Climb" and Old Winchester Hill, which was supposed to be nothing more than a moderate power effort ride on a lovely evening, but I got a little carried away and set a 2nd best and best PB respectively. 😳

Cue waking naturally at the ridiculous time for me of ~0800 this morning, having got to sleep at the late time of ~2330 last night, been stuck in neutral all morning!

... Might try and kick myself outdoors after another jar of coffee. 😉

I'm in Norway without a bike. Did go for a walk/hike up around Mount Floyen earlier so that kinda counts.

Redecorating the flat after the tenants moved out.

Whole place reeks of cats piss. They claim they had an outdoor rabbit (its a flat remember), but I came round to pick up some post and there was a kitten, the carpets and reek of piss, the curtains are shredded where its climbed them.

Don't know why we bother, the only people who actually make any money out of it are the estate agent, and the constant stream of trades fixing thing the tenant broke.

So yea. Not riding and more than a bit pissed off.

Was ok, nothing lasting at all. Took a couple of months iirc. Was a bit younger then (10 or so years ago), wouldn’t fancy trying to recover from that now!

Rode heartbreak ridge yesterday before the flash floods in ballater (knee deep in the main Street when we rode through )

Also got a bad cut/graze on the palm of my left hand from a rock interface which makes gripping bars fun.

Todayhas been salt water baths and healing ointment as tomorrow I'm.guiding some visiting friends round the inner Cairngorm loop

Quick (for me) Ladybower ride in the Peak. Never seen so many cyclists of all varieties, rammed with other folks too.

Only injuries were from a particularly vicious bramble at the start of the bit up to Jaggers, so better than usual.

Another Hayfever sufferer here. Worse year for me, did a 90 min road ride to blow away a hangover yesturday and afterwards my eyes went all puffy and swelled up like I had been fighting. So got some allergy eye drops and they helped this morning so did 3 x blue at QE , then winched up Butser , like you do and hey presto .- boxers eyes again.

You spend literally months waiting for good riding weather, then when it arrives you cant enjoy it due to allergies .

Hopefully now getting over raging arse crack fungal infection. Week 3 of prescription anti fungals and now on antifungal steroid cream as well. When anybody asked what it felt like I’ve sent them a picture of the Kilauea rift/fissure eruption that’s ongoing. Haven’t ridden since the end of April.☹️
