Ok, it looks like I did a daft thing and undertightened two of the grab nut doodahs on my SKS chromoplastics. They've probably washed down into the wharfe by now. I've bodged it together with Sugru for the commute tomorrow but does anyone know whether these are available or have an alternative mounting suggestion?

Would most stockists be likely to have them in?

I use sks but don't keep spares, but you should find that any old nut should fit.

I used to hate fitting mudguards, swearing and dropping parts . but i have it down now.

It's not just the nut sadly, it's the nut and threaded bar with they eyelet for the brace to pass through as well. There was a bit of a twang and it they parted ways.

There are spares kits available and most bike shops are likely to have a couple of odd ones kicking around

It's always amazed me they don't throw a single spare nut or bolt into the pack. so easy to lose one.
