As title! I wasn't expecting to recognise any STW'ers there but I know there was at least one other forum lurker there!
How did you get on and what thoughts of the course?
The off-piste sections were nice and tricky - too tired to hit the woodland bit and keep much speed through the bogs, and the exposed soggy hillside was very difficult to hit at speed without going over your bars! ๐
Absolutely shot by the end, my lower back had given up half way through, so had abdominal cramps from having to compensate. And I won my battle with the Marmite man who overtook me on the first lap ๐
First race ever actually, guess that's my cherry popped. (I know, I know, Dyfi Enduro isn't a race)...
Yep, I was there with Mrs midgebait counting the riders in and out as they passed our checkpoint (CP5)! My back started to hurt from all that sitting ๐
It looked a tough one this time around. Walked the woodland bit and I can imagine it wasn't appetising on the 3rd lap. Lot's of complaints of back pain and lots of dnf's but folk seemed to enjoy it. I might even have a go next season.
Ah, cheers for being one of the poor souls out there, hope I said a cheery Hello a few times to you! I was probably one of the most nondescript riders out there (grey/black bike, grey/blue helmet/top) but I try to put on a cheery face for the marshals.
The woodland bit wasn't any worse 3rd time around, I was at the back first lap, much further up 2nd lap. It was carnage with the pack going through. Good times!
I was a DNF, just hit the wall halfway round the second lap. Ended up sitting by the trailside begging for food, big thanks to the guy in the cannondale who stopped to give me a Mule bar, you saved me! Tried to find you at the finish but id competely forgotten what you looked like.
Yeah I was there, did 4.22 which I was very happy with. I normally Marshall at these events, so it was good to race for once.
funnily enough the third lap was the only time I rode the two off pistes sections dab free...
I waited back at the Angler's Arms to see if I could get a time but left around 3:30. Guess you got yours from the inside, but any idea when they might be public?
We've got the marshalling down to a fine art now with the Berlingo base. Mrs midgebait got her marking done and I managed some guitar practice and reading after the initial first lap melee. I have to say that we usually get smiles from the riders (apart from the occasional 1000 yard stares or grimaces). On the last lap some folk managed to say thanks for marshalling, which was nice ๐
Results are on the Kielder Trail Reavers forum website I believe.

Ah, they're up now. I was sure they weren't when I posted, cheers!
I don' think that even on the 3rd lap, when there was nobody stopped in my tracks that I got away dab-free from the woody section. I'd get through the really deep muddy bit with the stepping stones then get off and push/run as there would inevitably be someone stopped on the roots above ๐
