No idea but it looks very fancy so likely to be expensive.

That's a lot less than I was expecting, given Italian + used by a pro tour team...

Well spotted, folding option worth the extra. Tempted by one myself - was looking recently at the Halfords stand that supports the wheel but didn’t get around to buying.

sorry, did mean to reply but never got round to it.

Yes, it's very good. Got rid of our old one on FB marketplace the next day!

Old one was one of these:

It copes very well with a range of tyre sizes from narrow road to 2" mountain bike tyres (don't have anything wider). Easy to get in / out of and pretty stable.

Thanks.

Sounds spot on, understand you don't have anything wider than 2" but is there pleny room left to accommodate a 2.35" tyre?

Pulled the trigger and ordered one last night, still had a pair of tyres in my basket so thought why not treat myself.

Quick thread revival to say thanks to those who posted the Stabilus: I have one of the fork-y type stands pictured above but the chunky tyres on my new Big Al meant the prongs didn't reach the axle any more 🙁
Tried to knock up my own wooden stand but it didn't really work (I wouldn't have been able to make it both stable and foldable to chuck in the car boot very easily), so I've just got around to ordering the V2 Stabilus - it arrived this morning and simply appears to do what it says on the box 🙂 Comes with a carry bag, too... which is nice.

Is it secure enough on the front wheel to hold the bike for it's winter night ride quick hose sessions?

Just a tip but you can also use those stands to hold a bike by the pedal. Just drop the axle into the slot. Tyre width makes no difference.

Genuine question, why would you need one of these stands?

The side of that lorry would have perfectly been able to hold the bikes upright

You can buy work stands for the same money or less that allow you to fully work on a bike

Keeps my bike upright in the middle of my shed amongst other bikes, motorcycles etc.

Slips in the boot and then holds the bike up so I can wash it after each ride.
Leaning it against stuff is a PITA - you can only get to one side at a time, it keeps slipping away from you as the front wheel turns, etc. Leaning it against the car is also an invitation to big scratches on your car.

Also quite handy putting all the bits that I take off when transporting the bike on a car rack back on the bike ready for a ride.

And for just holding a bike for brief work in the garage that doesn't need getting the full workstand out.

But if you don't wash your bike down after riding, very little point at all, especially in the folding version.

Slight thread resurrection....

I bought one of these when this thread was originally posted up. Just used it at the weekend to keep the bike upright in the back of the van (also strapped it down). Done the job perfectly, never moved at all on the journey up, kept the bike out of the way when sleeping in the back too. Also handy when the bike is in the shed. Well chuffed with the purchase

Yep, it's the best portable stand I've come across.

The strapping down didn't aid in the lack of movement then?

@DickBarton - yeah, the strapping down helped when I was travelling in the van. Didn't have it strapped down when I was sleeping though and it was still solid
