Honestly, I really dont think they're worth it. One of Nuke Proofs or Transitions would be a better and cheaper option if you want an alloy 4x frame.

I am after an alloy 4x frame but it must also be able to take the occasional trail-center bashing. The Transition Bank is just as expensive... I also thought about the Toy 5 from 24 Bicycles

Get the Nuke Proof then. People actually race these frames professionally! They look bang on and they're cheap.
